Steph lives right down the hall, but it's only luck that she was home when the alarm went off. They're not a college dorm, so it seems unlikely that it was a prank. Rather than behave like a normal person and wait to see if the alarm went off for the whole building, Steph went out in search of the source of the alarm.

She was more than a little alarmed when she found it to be coming from the suite where Cucuc and Dia were living. She knocked urgently on the door.

"Hey, you guys okay in there?"
