For all of Stein's quirks, his body language and expression are really quite benign. It's obvious he doesn't mind repeating himself, goodness knows he does it enough in the classroom over what he thinks are the simplest things. Steve certainly doesn't look young enough to be one of his students, but he does look confused so Stein expects that more questions will follow.
