Picking one up, she holds it up for him to see. There's a light coming from inside the crystal in question, shining brighter than anything it could be reflecting.
"Where I'm from there are two types of crystal. Besides the normal ones that are formed from the elements and time, living beings can become crystal, too. Or in this case..." Her hand closed around the crystal then, obscuring it from view as she hopped back up to her feet and walked a few feet away. "It acts kind of like a beacon for monsters that I've tamed through my travels."
With her hand still clasped around the crystal Serah turned to the young man at the fountain.
