He won't question it. After all, he'd spent the better part of his last year on Auldrant accepting himself, and learning that it wasn't always blood that made people family- it was memories and truly coming to care for one another, "Well, sometimes, the best kind of family is the one you pick for yourself." He chuckles a bit at that second part, though, "Hey, that makes it all the better!"
Nodding, he returns the smile, "Yeah, you're right. It's pretty strange, but I guess there's no point questioning it, right now."
Listening quietly to the part about the memories, Luke's head slowly tilts to the side, "Yeah, I can imagine it is hard having that time gone. Still, though, you..." He lightly smiles, "You can't move forward, if you...keep trying to look back. Who knows...If he says it's for your own good, that must mean it's something that might do you more harm, than good, by remembering it."
His expression softens, "When I was younger, I used to let the fact that I didn't...'remember' my past affect my personality. I let myself become a bad person. Then, some things happened that opened my eyes. I learned that the most important thing isn't the past. What's really important is what you're doing here, and now- and, in a lot of ways, it's about the memories you leave with other people."
