Kit smiled encouragingly at his acceptance of her offer. "Good," she said. She then reached up to lightly rest her hand on his metal arm for a moment. "It'll be OK," she said. "You'll see."
When the moment passed, though, she ducked around him and out the window, perching on the railing of the fire-escape outside, clearly intending to head off. "I'll see you around, OK?", she said, then grinned a bit and gave him a little wink. "Try not to get into too much trouble."
