He knows, at least, that there are a lot of different kinds of food, partially from a vague feeling in his memory and partially because of what he's observed so far, so he nods in response to Diarmuid's idea that it's going to take a while. He isn't certain that anyone could try all the kinds of food there are in the world--or his world, at least. Perhaps there are fewer options here.
