Diarmuid probably would have been happy with any answer he'd given, he thinks. It's a little reassuring. As much as he wants to remember things, he's not expected to, and the boy just takes it as encouragement to help him learn.

He does remember spaghetti, though; enough to remember what it looks like and what it's made of, at least, so he nods before turning to his own bowl again.
