With the automatic reaction out of the way and his brain essentially resetting itself concerning his surroundings, the assassin took a second to reassess the situation.

They'd come here on Steve's suggestion to get his arm back in working order, but now that he knew it was Stark he'd been referring to, it seemed clear to him that it was pointless to pursue that goal any further. They were not on good terms, and even if Stark was willing to do it, the assassin wasn't certain he was willing to let him do it, even with Steve in the room. He didn't trust that Stark wouldn't do something to it to his own advantage.

He looked away a moment later and began to step towards the door. He never owed his targets a reason anyway.
