Steve shook his head, no. What they did was still important. They stopped Schmidt and prevented millions of deaths. That still mattered. He just didn't finish the job when he should had.

Instead, they captured Bucky and tortured him this entire time, probably forced him to fight. It was probably why they were going to fight in the future. But then, why didn't Bucky remember all that? Steve guessed that they kept him under ice until recently, which explained why he wasn't any older.
