There's clearly a lot more to her situation than he can get at the moment (even if he thinks he's starting to make headway), but it's not going to stop him from trying to make her feel better. He never could stand to see a girl cry.

"Hey, come here," he says softly, gently coaxing her to lean against him with his arm around her. "Everything's gonna be alright."

He looks around without moving his head, trying to figure out the best way to comfort her.
