Summary: There are a lot of fun ways to spend a warm afternoon, though, for a bitty knight the best way to spend it is...training! Oh, and sometimes stopping to sing songs to his 'family.'

For once Diarmuid is using his cloak as something other than a blanket. Right now, he is carefully spreading it out on the grass so that he can set his new toys on it. With him are three small stuffed animals he got at the end of the festival--two adult swans and a baby one.

"Here is the father swan," Diarmuid carefully sets the first of the adult swans onto the cloak--the one he has picked to represent his foster father, Aengus. He then sets the other adult swan next to the first, this one representing his foster mother, Caer, "And here is the mother swan! And here is the baby swan who isn't lost anymore!" The boy sets the baby swan in front of the two adults and then jumps up and claps his hands happily.

"Now the whole family is together again! Watch me, Father! Watch me, Mother! I'll show you what everyone has been teaching me while I've been away!" The boy bows to the toys and then picks his practice sword up off the ground. He takes a few steps away before starting to practice the new sword moves he's been taught by Suzaku and some of the others who have offered to train him.

He knows that the toys aren't really his family, of course, but over the last few days he's been more homesick than usual and talking to them like they are helps for some reason. Once he's practiced for a while, Diarmuid will sit down by the toys for a rest and to sing some happy songs to his 'family.' After a few songs, he will jump up and start practicing again. Diarmuid isn't really paying attention to anything going on around him, but he will be happy to talk to anyone who approaches him and be even happier should anyone decide they want to train along with him.

"Exactly." He nodded, "And remember I told you that I was in another city before I came here, Lelouch was in a different city and so it has been a long time since we were home."

"Lady Irene says that time stops when we are taken from our homes, but if you were someplace else already..." The train of thought is complex. A little too complex for such a young child and so Diarmuid just ends up confused and frowning, "I hope things will be okay in your world until you can go back."

Suzaku frowned, because he knew that wasn't true. Not for where he had been anyways. But he didn't want to upset the child if that was what he had been told. "I am sure it will be."

Diarmuid nods and is quiet for a few moments not sure exactly how to answer. He doesn't miss Suzaku's frown and can't help but think there is something his friend isn't telling him or doesn't want to talk about for some reason. However, if it makes his friend sad, Diarmuid doesn't really want to talk about it either.

"Are you hungry, Suzaku? I have some sandwiches in my room. I would be glad to share them with you!"

Suzaku was glad to change the subject, and not think about Lelouch for a moment. "That would be nice."

"Yay! Lets go back to my room!" Diarmuid sets his sword down on the ground and carefully wraps his toys up in the cloak they have been sitting on. As he does, his butterfly flies up off the toys where it has been 'watching' everything and disappears into his hair. Once he has the bundle all gathered up, Diarmuid picks up his sword again and turns to Suzaku with a smile.

"Off we go for food!"

Suzaku watched as he gathered his toys and then nodded, before following. "Alright. Do you need help carrying anything?"

"I've got it all. Thank you, Suzaku!" Diarmuid smiles at his friend as they start toward Building One, "Can you get the door for me? Going out wasn't hard, but going back in might be a little harder! Oh! What kind of sandwiches do you like? I hope I have the right things to make them!"

"I can." Suzaku opened the door to let Diarmuid through and then took the key from around the boys neck to open his room.

"I have no preference, whatever you have will be delicious I am sure."

"Thank you!" Diarmuid slides into the building and heads toward the stairs once he is sure Suzaku is following, "I don't know about delicious. Sandwiches are easy. That is why I make them. The stove and the micro-wave are kind of scary, so I don't use them. They seem like things only an adult should use. Like a fire. Only an adult should use a fire!"

"They are." Suzaku nodded, "Though they are safe if you are with an adult. If you want I can help you make something now, it's important you have cooked meals every now and again."

"Cooked meals are better. There is something missing from sandwiches..." The boy stops when they reach the door to his room and looks up at Suzaku, "I don't know if I have anything you can cook. It would be nice if I did, but I don't think I do."

"We can go and buy something if you like. And I can cook it for you." If Lelouch was here he would be face palming, Suzaku's cooking ability was almost non existent.

Fortunately for Suzaku, Diarmuid's people aren't known for being picky eaters, so the boy will likely enjoy whatever is made good or bad. Diarmuid looks up at his friend happily when he hears the suggestion, "I would like that! You can look at see if there is anything to cook while I put my stuff away and then we can go!"

"Alright." Suzaku nodded and made a note to ask Lelouch, if Lelouch ever calmed down, to cook for the boy, Lelouch was a better cook than Suzaku would ever be.

There wasn't much in the kitchen and Suzaku made a mental note of things they could buy. "Do you like soup Diarmuid?"

There was very little he could mess up with soup.

"Soup? Is that like stew?" Diarmuid gives Suzaku a curious look before walking into the room and over to his bed. He carefully unwraps his toys, crawls up on the bed, and sets them on the corner where he usually leaves them. He then folds up his cloak and sets it on the corner as well.

"I'm not picky, Suzaku!" The boy walks into the kitchen once he is done and watches his friend look through the kitchen, "I like trying new things. Do you want to make me something you like?"

"A bit, it is more watery than stew."

He nodded, "Well soup is one of the few things I can make, so it looks like soup it is."

Diarmuid nods, reaching for Suzaku's hand once it seems like the other man is done looking, "Soup for supper! What will be in the soup? What do we need to buy to make it?" As he talks, the boy pulls Suzaku toward the door of the room, excited to be on their way.

"What do you want in the soup?" He asked, "Anything can go into it, most people have vegetables, some meat, some kind of rice or noodles." He let himself be dragged out of the apartment.

"Meat! It has to have meat!" Even if it was dried or there was just a little of it, meat was something that Diarmuid always had in his meals back home and so it is something familiar to him. On the other hand...

The boy gives Suzaku a curious look, "What are noodles and rice? I don't think I have heard of them before."

"Alright we can get meat." He nodded and frowned trying to think of a way to explain rice. "It is... I am not sure how to explain, I will show you some when we get to the shop."

"Okay! Off we go shopping!" Diarmuid giggles and continues to pull Suzaku along out of the building and down the sidewalk. Little does Suzaku know that Diarmuid has all kinds of questions about food he is going to be peppering his friend with as they go. He's been saving them up from when he has been out on his own.

Suzaku let himself be dragged off, and won't mind the questions at all.
