The Ballad of Yuna the Kid
Who: Yuna Akashi and whoever
Where: Near the riverfront, away from the apartments and businesses
When: September 26th, afternoon to early evening
Summary: Gun mage shenanigans
Warnings: Action brackets because I'm lazy
[Well, Yuna's been here for a few months, and nothing has tried to kill her yet. That's basically her only criterion for liking a town at this point, so she's feeling pretty good about the Saeng Seong experience. And since she doesn't have to spend all her time looking over her shoulder and waiting for the other shoe to drop, today she's decided it's high time she did a little bit of practice with her two favorite M's - magic and marksmanship. She can be found throughout the daylight hours down by the river, with a bunch of cheap cardboard targets set up along the water's edge for her practice.]
Prompt #1: Magic
[Sometimes, she's casting a fire spell at them - her wand out and at the ready as she speaks her incantation.]
Tytto tytto pycgadpymm! Unum spiritus ignis... coèuntes, sagittent inimicum meam! Sagitta Magica, convergentia ignis!
[On the last syllable, an arrow made entirely of fire streaks forth from Yuna's wand, striking one of the targets square in the center. She grins, taking a few more shots - and a few times she even aims to miss on purpose before lifting her wand to point it at the projectile and flicking it to the side, causing it to change directions in midair and strike true.]
I'm getting pretty good at this! I wonder if I'll be ready to start making multiple arrows pretty soon...
Prompt #2: Marksmanship
[Once she's finished with magic practice, it's time to pull out the big guns - quite literally, in this case. Onlookers will see Yuna draw out a small stylized playing card, holding it in front of her as she speaks the activation word.]
Adeat!
[There's a brief flash of light, and when it recedes, she's wearing a long gunner's coat, thigh high boots, and carrying a pair of magical pistols in her hands. Grinning, she holsters one gun and spins the other around in her hand before taking aim at the targets and opening fire. Her speed and accuracy, while certainly not superhuman, are astonishingly good.]
Heheh... still got it!
