Fire?!?
Who: Diarmuid Ua Duibhne (
smallspot ), Cu Chulainn (
beforetights ), and anyone who wants to respond to the fire alarm/sprinklers.
Where: Room 2-17, Building One
When: Afternoon on 10-18
Format: Starting in prose, but please use whatever you want to reply!
Summary: Two little boys, two puppies, and a stove. What could go wrong here? (Please note that the fire will be small and quickly put out by the sprinklers, but there will still be smoke and the alarms to deal with. Oops indeed...)
Warnings: Cuteness, puppies, fire?
Edit: Lotus (
beforetights ) is having some net issues currently thanks Murphy so she has asked that we have the boys responding separately instead of in a rotation like we originally planned. That way threads aren't held up. Sorry for any confusion!
It's a perfectly innocent scene. Two little boys who just recently adopted each other as brothers--one black-haired and one blue-haired. Two puppies--one grey and one white. They are playing in the living room of the apartment as little boys and puppies do. They were doing something earlier, but whatever it was has been forgotten in favor of playing with the puppies who are more fun than anything else could be.
What is this thing that has been so thoroughly forgotten? That would be lunch. To be specific, it would be the soup sitting to cook on the stove. Diarmuid has been shown how to make it in both the microwave and the stove, but he had opted for the stove even if the microwave would have been safer for two little boys. The microwave has no fire, after all. What is fun about watching food cook in a metal box? Not that even having the fire to cook food over had stood a chance against the appeal of a pair of puppies.
Unfortunately, having been forgotten means that the soup is boiling on a burner that is turned up too high without anyone to realize something is wrong. That is, until the smoke alarm goes off and, immediately after, the sprinklers in the apartment follow suit causing Cu Chulainn to yelp in surprise and Diarmuid to look up from his playing with wide, startled eyes.
Oops...
(OOC: Please post who you would like to respond to your reply--either Diarmuid, Cu Chulainn or both. If you don't put anything both boys will respond by default. Feel free to include event shenanigans if you would like!)

No. Stay. It could be dangerous in there if you go all by yourself.

[Diarmuid wants his brother to feel better right now. That is all he cares about. It doesn't really seem to matter to him that he might get hurt.]
I want you to be better!
no subject
[He starts crying again. Partly because he's frustrated, and partly because his eyes still hurt. One hand goes to rub furiously at his eyes, as if that would make them less red.]
no subject
[Diarmuid sits down next to his brother, putting an arm around him to prove his point.]
Now, don't rub your eyes anymore. It will make them worse!
no subject
[He squats down and hugs his knees. Then, he tries to rub his eyes with his shirt.]
And my throat is dry and I'm thirsty...
[He just wants to go somewhere where he can get some water.]
no subject
Do you think your room will be smoky? It is pretty much closed off from mine. Maybe we can go in there and get you something to drink!
no subject
[He turns his face in the direction of his room.
no subject
Do you just want to sit here while I go and get what you need? You should rest!

no subject
I promise! I will be very careful!
[He gives his brother another hug and then runs off to get the things from Cu Chulainn's room. Not long later, he returns with a glass of water and a damp, cool towel.]
Here!
no subject
[He grabs the water and towel from his brother.]
My room wasn't burning, was it?
no subject
No! Nothing is burning now. There wasn't even much smoke in your room. And no water!
[Guess where they are probably sleeping tonight...]
The smoke is my room is clearing too! At least, it looks like it from the doorway.
no subject
[He stands up.]
Let's go back inside! I wanna see if the bad guy left our things alone!
no subject
Just be careful! I don't want you to start feeling bad again!
no subject
[He dabs at his eyes again. They're still rather red.]
no subject
Ready to go? We can look around and then maybe we can go into your room with the puppies and rest a while?
[This too is really more for his brother than him. Once his brother is asleep, Diarmuid plans on seeing what he can do to start cleaning up his room.]
no subject
[He grins.]
Come on! Last one in there is a runt pig!
no subject
That would be you because I'm a little bird, not a runt pig!
no subject
[However, he still run a little slower than Diarmuid because his eyes haven't completely recovered yet.]
no subject
If neither of us are piggies, we should enter the room together!
no subject
[He reaches to hold Diarmuid's hand.]
We'll enter together and hold hands so no bad guy will dare mess with us.
no subject
[Diarmuid reaches takes his brother's hand hand then confidently steps into the doorway of the room.]
Watch out bad guys! Here we come!
no subject
...I don't think there's anyone in this room.
[Then again, he still can't see well.]
no subject
No, no one is here. But there is a big mess for me to clean up...
