Fire?!?

Who: Diarmuid Ua Duibhne (smallspot ), Cu Chulainn (beforetights ), and anyone who wants to respond to the fire alarm/sprinklers.
Where: Room 2-17, Building One
When: Afternoon on 10-18
Format: Starting in prose, but please use whatever you want to reply!
Summary: Two little boys, two puppies, and a stove. What could go wrong here? (Please note that the fire will be small and quickly put out by the sprinklers, but there will still be smoke and the alarms to deal with. Oops indeed...)

It's a perfectly innocent scene. Two little boys who just recently adopted each other as brothers--one black-haired and one blue-haired. Two puppies--one grey and one white. They are playing in the living room of the apartment as little boys and puppies do. They were doing something earlier, but whatever it was has been forgotten in favor of playing with the puppies who are more fun than anything else could be.

What is this thing that has been so thoroughly forgotten? That would be lunch. To be specific, it would be the soup sitting to cook on the stove. Diarmuid has been shown how to make it in both the microwave and the stove, but he had opted for the stove even if the microwave would have been safer for two little boys. The microwave has no fire, after all. What is fun about watching food cook in a metal box? Not that even having the fire to cook food over had stood a chance against the appeal of a pair of puppies.

Unfortunately, having been forgotten means that the soup is boiling on a burner that is turned up too high without anyone to realize something is wrong. That is, until the smoke alarm goes off and, immediately after, the sprinklers in the apartment follow suit causing Cu Chulainn to yelp in surprise and Diarmuid to look up from his playing with wide, startled eyes.

"Right there! In front of you!"

He quickly nods at Suzaku's questions.

"Yes! He looks like a shadow!"

"They aren't real." Suzaku told him, "I've been seeing them as well. They are just shadows." It was hard to explain when he didn't understand it himself.

[beforetights]

"Really? Are you sure? They look real!"

[swordofzero]

"I know. But they are just shadows. For now I think the best thing is to just ignore them." So far he hadn't heard of them hurting anyone.

"Really, you think so? But they made a fire in our house!"

[swordofzero]

I don't think that was the shadows. [He frowned]

[beforetights]

"Then who was it?"

He's still unsure if he should believe that it was just an accident caused by being distracted.

[swordofzero]

"I am unsure, did you have anything in the kitchen? The oven on or the microwave?" From the smoke in their apartment it seemed like it was there that the fire had started.

[beforetights]

"Diarmuid was making soup for me, but it's not his fault! I know it isn't!"

[swordofzero]

"It was most likely an accident, and that means it was nobodies fault." Suzaku explained to him.

[beforetights]

"But we were watching the pot! Really! And Diarmuid knows how to cook, so he wouldn't make the fire too hot!"

Cu Chulainn knows that his explanation is a little silly, but he also knows Diarmuid would be sad if he though he had set the house on fire with his cooking.]

"I know, but accidents happen especially since cooking is something Diarmuid just learned." He feels guilty since he was the one who taught Diarmuid to make soup, and he should have made sure the boy was safer.

[beforetights]

"Then it's my fault. I wanted him to come play with the puppies."

Cu Chulainn pouts.

[swordofzero]

"I told you, I don't believe it anyone's fault." Suzaku reached out to put a hand on his head, "Don't worry, no one was hurt and it will be sorted soon."

[beforetights]

"Mm...is that a knight's promise, Sir Suzaku?"

[swordofzero]

"It is." Suzaku nodded, "Though I need you to remember something. If those alarms ever go off again, even if you cannot see smoke you must leave the building as quickly as possible."

[beforetights]

He nods.

"...Yes, Sir Suzaku. And if you heard that noise, would you leave the building too?"

[swordofzero]

"Yes I would." Most the time, unless there were people who needed help.

[beforetights]

"Alright."

He wiggles a bit.

"Let me down now. I wanna see if my puppies are here."

[swordofzero]

He let's him go and steps back. "They are safe." He nods towards where they are with Diarmuid.

[beforetights]

Cu Chulainn quickly walks over to the puppies, giving them each a big hug and laughing as they lick his face.

"Has Diarmuid told you about them yet? They're our puppies, White and Grey."

[swordofzero]

"He has, I have met Grey already." He scratched the puppy behind the ears and looked at the other. "This must be White."

[beforetights]

"Yes! White is mine and Grey is Diarmuid's. Look how fluffy White is! She's going to grow up to be really big someday, and I want her to grow up fast so I can ride on her!"

The puppy licks at Suzaku's hand even as it owner rambles on.

[swordofzero]

Suzaku continued scratching. "She is fluffy, though I would be careful of riding her, especially since you will grow as well."

[beforetights]

"Yeah...I know. Diarmuid told me."

He runs his hand down White's fluffy back.

"But she'll still be big. And Grey is gonna be bigger!"
