Pokémon Palooza!
Who: PokéSpecials (Gold, Silver, and Crystal), their new juniors (Naoto, Yuna, and Diarmuid), and a bunch of Pokémon.
Where: The wide park area of District 4, specifically by the lakeside.
When: April 12th, mid-morning
Summary: It's probably time for the new Pokémon trainers to understand exactly what they're getting into. Aka: A bunch of Pokémon trainersenpai seniors get to help out their kouhai juniors. A lot of Pokémon fun, probably! (Is Pokémon even a real word anymore.)
Warnings: Probably a lot of cute stuff and intense fussing, because that's what trainers from Johto absolutely do best. Also some responses will be slow (from me at least) -- feel free to threadjack where needed, seniors, since everyone's going to be in the same general area.
Crystal'd delivered the eggs to their respective trainers (Paras to Naoto, Horsea to Diarmuid, Totodile to Yuna) late last night, since they'd been on the edge of hatching, along with a request for them to meet up at the lake in District 4 -- as it was both fairly close and big enough for a big Pokémon gathering.
Luckily, it's a pretty nice day outside (or, well, it isn't threatening to rain -- that counts!) on the day they've decided to convene at the lake. The Pokémon are enjoying the pleasant spring weather too, though a few have opted to take to the water (Kingdra especially) instead of sitting out on the bank with their trainers.
It's just time to wait for the three new trainers to arrive with their baby Pokémon so things can get underway...
[ooc: phew! prose and brackets are both welcome, just use whatever you're most comfortable with.
also: the juniors should at least each make their own open thread for other juniors as well as GSC kids to reply to when they'd like. pokémon is all about forming bonds with people and pokémon alike -- let's keep the spirit going!]

It stops when they evolve, I think. [Though with luck, there won't be a need for them to evolve!] You could probably train her out of it too -- I'd guess Silver's probably already said something about that though.

[Smoochum are kind of the same way, except they just kiss. Not bite. Totodile like biting things that move.]

[She glances over to the river, where Waniko has found a piece of driftwood and is making short work of it.]
Lots and lots of chew toys.

It's good you've got a job. I'm not sure the monthly stipend could pay for necessities and a few toys every month... or week, I guess, depending...

Is there anything else you'd like to ask about? Totodile's not my strong point, but I can handle pretty much anything else about Pokémon you want to know.

Oh, and food, too. What kind of food should I be buying for her? Do you make your own Pokemon food or just buy things from the stores in the shopping district?

[Policing her juniors' battles in some months time, or even a year... Wow. That's really long term thinking.]
Some stuff's easy to understand - like Scratch, Growl, and Bite - but Water Gun's probably not as clear-cut. That's what Diarmuid's Horsea keeps using on him, by the way, even if it doesn't realize it yet. Water Gun, if trained properly, can become bigger and stronger -- even up to Hydro Pump. Your Totodile's still small though, so she'll probably only be able handle Water Gun.
[She rests her chin in her hand, thinking.]
I wouldn't worry too much about it unless things start seeming weird though. She'll probably accidentally use a lot of them and learn them on their own like that.
[Onto the next question!]
Pokémon food's just like dog or cat food -- it gives the right amount of vitamins and nutrients for its species. Wild Pokémon don't eat it though, so it's probably safe to say that you could feed your own Pokémon anything reasonable. Totodile's got big jaws and sharp teeth, so I'd say any kind of meat's fine. Just figure out what she likes best.
[Paras could feasibly photosynthesize or just eat sap from trees, and... Horsea's probably going to be the "hardest" out of all of them, but they'll figure something out.]

[Yuna taps her cheek in thought.]
How do I know what the moves are supposed to be called? You guys have Pokedexes and things to tell you that, right? Should I just ask you if she starts doing something new that I've never seen before?
[And nodding as her questions are answered one by one.]
Yeah, meat seems like the best choice there. I'll play around with it a little and see what she likes best. I guess raw is probably fine, huh?

And yeah, I'd say so. You could give her cooked too and see if she prefers it while you're at it.

[Good thing senpai has already noticed her.]
That's not a bad idea. Either way, I'll get a nice juicy steak out of it.

[That seems to be it, huh! Crystal stands up and brushes herself off.]
If that's all, I should probably go and see if anyone else has questions.
