Who: Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, Tony Stark.
Where: Tony's apartment
When: Backdated to July 4th
Summary: Steve brings Bucky to Tony in hopes of him repairing his arm. It doesn't work out so well.
Warnings: People being idiots.

Ever since he reunited with Bucky, Steve had been doing his best to help him adjust to Saeng Seong. Of course he probably didn't need the help in doing so, but Steve just wanted to be there for him now and spend as much time as possible with Bucky. After all, who knew what was going to happen here. Bucky might be sent home or he could go back, something that he didn't want even though he was going to eventually meet him on Earth.

But for now, he wanted to concentrate on what was happening here. His memories of this city were going to disappear later, so he had to make sure that he made the most of their current situation.

Bucky still wouldn't give out any details about what happened, other than he forgot a lot of things. Mostly their childhood. But he couldn't help that if he had amnesia from the fall, even if it really saddened him. He tried a couple of times to bring up some of their shared memories, but he didn't get much of a reaction. It was upsetting, but Steve just had to stick by him, even if the process was going to be slow. It sorta gave him more of a purpose here anyway, someone that he could help.

Of course, he was just as worried about him not giving any details about his future, even if there was probably a reason for it. Steve didn't like it, but he never pushed the topic too much. He wasn't about to force anything out of Bucky and maybe he would eventually give out some details on his own.

But if he was honest about everything, it had been sorta stressful dealing with this new Bucky. Steve didn't regret being around him though, he would gladly deal with the stress and the confusion. Steve just hoped that Bucky would talk to him more or smile more again, instead of that blank gaze he now had. Luckily, Steve wasn't the type to give up on people, especially if it was his best friend.

It didn't take him long to notice that Bucky's metal arm wasn't working all too well. He hadn't moved it since Steve had been around him, so it wasn't hard to figure out. It was a complex piece of technology and he had no idea how to fix something like that, but luckily he knew someone that probably could.

Tony Stark.

It wasn't hard convincing Bucky to go along with him; after Steve promised that he'd stay with him during the procedure he just nodded silently. So, he was here in front of Tony's apartment, knocking on the door and waiting for the engineer to answer. He probably should have let Tony know that he was coming, but he was just so wrapped up in trying to help Bucky that he kinda forgot to be more polite about this.

He really owed him once this was over.

Tony furrowed his eyebrows at Barnes--that was the question he had?--but then his attention shifted to Rogers. His mouth pressed into a scowl as he walked to the refrigerator, regarding Steve through narrowed eyes. Tony dug a few ice cubes out of the freezer and dumped them into his mug. Not the actual iced coffee he asked for, but this was good enough for the moment and his request would be fulfilled soon, provided Barnes could manage to run an errand without murdering anyone.

"Why not, sure," Tony replied. "Sharing is caring."

He took a sip, swirled the ice and coffee, and lightly touched the cooling mug to his face with a wince.

"Hit him," he told Barnes, pointing at Steve. "Pretend he's me. You know. Super soldier me."

His eyes went from the engineer to the other super soldier when Stark directed his attention that way, and he didn't suppose it was too much to ask. He'd hit Steve much harder before without causing any permanent damage that he was aware of, and given it would be with his weaker hand, he didn't think it would cause any problems overall. Steve was the one to suggest it...

The soldier stepped in front of Steve and only waited for a split second to allow him to brace himself before he silently threw a punch at his face. It was definitely enough to knock a lesser man off his feet, and enough to topple Steve over if he wasn't properly prepared for it.

That was less satisfying than he was expecting. Huh. Mental note: physical schadenfreude doesn't really do it for him.

At Steve's question, Tony made a noncommittal noise.

"B plus," he said, grading the blow with an almost bored tone.

"Now get the other stuff. And Spangles isn't allowed to help this time."

Expressionless and without hesitation, the soldier turned to retrieve his jacket. Although his orders didn't include being clothed, he felt uneasy leaving the hole in his arm exposed, and he would attract less attention if he had something to cover himself with.

He spent several moments getting his currently useless arm into its sleeve, but he didn't appear to be frustrated or embarrassed by the amount of effort he had to put into it--he only zipped the front up when he finally managed.

He didn't even bother to glance towards the other two as he turned to the door to leave.

Watching Barnes fumble with his limp, heavy arm would have been much more entertaining if the guy actually reacted, Tony noted. Gotten flustered, annoyed, anything besides that flat robotic face. It was almost enough to annoy Tony, and he didn't have to shove 20 pounds of metal neural prosthesis into a tiny jacket sleeve. Fortunately, he had several much less petty reasons to be irritated at Barnes.

He watched the soldier leave with casual posture, still touching the mug to his face, but his eyes were sharp. He'd been burned by this guy too many times to not be constantly on his guard. When Rogers spoke, however, he cocked his head at him incredulously.

"Him be careful?" Seriously, Rogers?
