Records of what?

[Probably the one thing she is most paranoid about, really.]

[Well. That's kind of back on the original track, at least. Visions - that's interesting but she doesn't want to press the poor lady too much. She's just had her security compromised, after all.]
no subject
[She seems almost ashamed to admit it, after keeping the fact secret for so long. But... no one had asked...]
no subject
[She makes a motion as if to start running her hand through her hair, fingers splaying over the frontmost horn that grows there.]
Are there any chances I could see that?
[She wants to ask about something else, but learning whatever she can from independent sources sounds like a good idea too.]

[She looks into the box, pulling out a tome that smells a bit of ash. Even after all this time, the scent still lingers.]
Here. Though I'll need to ask you to read it here. This is the only book that has details of events that weren't modified afterward by Cyntia's people.

[She looks down at the book a moment before reaching out to take it gingerly. It feels like the piece of history it is, not just because of the smell or the signs of outward age if there are any, but for the sheer fact of it being a paper book - they exist in her world, sure, but most people prefer to keep them digitally.
She'll crack it open, just as carefully, sitting down at the table to read it. She has to almost lie down to be at a comfortable distance from the book, but she wants it to be on a flat surface so she can't damage it with a movement of her leg or something. She'll speak as she reads - or rather, skims for pertinent information.]
So a certain someone wants to know about what the scientists are doing. After he's pointed out that, yeah, we haven't had a district reopened in a while, I want to know too. Know anything, or know who or where to point me at?

The clear sky became an ill omen midmorning today as the earth quaked beneath the feet of Saeng Seong citizens. While most fled for safety, the brave souls who follow the lead of our High Priestess stood in vigil over the shrines spread out around the city limits and outside its gates.
The cries of our Goddess were like screams of the dead calling us forward into the inferno as the fire spread from District Eight. However, it was not the flames that caused the most devastation. Casualties of an unknown mist - the miasma as our texts call it - soon skyrocketed as it spread from the epicenter of the explosion to the surrounding countryside, closing off all exit routes and blocking further trade from neighboring city-states.
We have begun to call this event "The Unleashing".
On a more personal note, my brother however seems to either be trapped outside the affected area, or has been claimed by the miasma. I pray to the Mother that she watches over him still...

The only one I know who would have any idea for that is Cyntia... but I would not recommend asking her that if you do not want to be brushed aside.

[She'll glance at the next several pages after it, too.]
So where is the lab anyway? They got a nice public front somewhere?
no subject
[She pauses a moment, shoulders stiffening.]
You are the second to ask me that, and no - no they do not.
no subject
[The question seems to bother her, so she won't press for its actual location or anything. At least yet. She's probably not on board with a break-in.]
no subject
[The book doesn't seem to contain much insight aside from individuals being kicked out of the city for being able to somehow absorb the miasma, and religious officials trying their best to contain it on the inside while urging others to remain in contact with one another to stave off the effects. Herbal remedies are also listed, though said herbs were becoming rare outside their uses within special purification candles.]
... I'll mention to the person who is also keen on an entrance that you share the same interest.
no subject
[Well. It's not like she could keep it a secret anyway.]
And...hey, if you need any protection at all, you can count on me, all right? It's about the only way I could pay you back.
