It's my party...
Who: Kit and anyone who wants to talk to her
Where: Near the pond
When: Backdated to Oct. 4, early afternoon
What: Kit has to celebrate her first birthday without her twin. Feelings are... mixed, to say the least.
Warnings: Possible sad kitty?
Around the pond, music can be heard drifting through the warm afternoon air. Though the music is beautiful, and the tune soothing, it also sounds strangely sad. And perhaps... a bit lonely.
Those who follow the music back to its source will find Wily-Kit, siting on the branch of a tree overlooking the pond, her back resting against the trunk of the tree, eyes closed. She seems to be lost in her playing, unaware of anyone else's presence just yet. It might almost seem a shame to disturb her, if not for the fact that the song she's playing seems especially melancholy today...

"I don't think it's really the best way of dealing with criminals," Kit said. "But it's the Dogs' City and we can't tell them what to do, so..." She shrugged a bit. The cats were no longer a real political power, and even if they were, even she knew that trying to interfere in another tribe's business like that was just asking for trouble.

"Is it okay if we talk about something else now?" He's not sure what, but he would really rather not keep talking about that. It's a dark part of society he's just really not ready to face.
no subject
But Diarmuid was right, it was about time for a change of subject. "Maybe we could talk about some of my other friends?", she said. "That's what we were going to do anyway, before we got to talking about other stuff."

"Cheetara has spots in her hair, and fights with a staff, like all Clerics," Kit continued. "Her staff is special, though. It's made from a branch of the oldest tree in the Forest of Magi Oar, one of the most magical places on Third Earth. Viragor, the forest's Guardian, gave it to her as thanks for helping protect the forest from people who were hurting it, since he kinda broke her old one when we thought he was a bad guy."
"Cheetara knows a lot about magic and things too," she said. "The Clerics kept all kinds of secret knowledge and can tap into the world's magic. It lets them sense things, helps them live longer than most cats would, and lets them run and fight super-fast! Cheetara's fast even without magic, but with magic, she's really, really fast. She ran right up the wall in the Tower of Omens after the stairs got broken! She spiraled around and around all the way to the top!" Kit gestured with one hand, miming how Cheetara had spiraled up the tower's inner walls. It would have been so cool if Mumm-Ra hadn't been trying to kill them all at the time.

"Wow! She sounds like a druid and a warrior all wrapped up in one person! Sometimes warriors are bards and fighters, but they usually aren't druids and fighters..." Considering how long it takes for a person to become a druid, there really isn't time to learn anything else, "I really wish I could have seen her run up the walls like that. I am fast and I like being in the air. It would be so neat if I could learn how to do that!"
"Do you know how long she has been training for?"
no subject
"And I think she said she's been training since she was a little girl," Kit said. "Not too much older than we are. Some Clerics started even younger though, especially if they lived in the city of Thundara itself. That's where the main Clericy was, and kittens who had potential were sometimes taken on as personal apprentices of older Clerics, sometimes when they were really young."

"Anyway, who's next...?" She thought for a moment before deciding to leave it up to Diarmuid. "Do you wanna hear about Panthro, Lion-O, or Tygra next?"
no subject
"Tell me about Tygra!"
no subject
"He's actually better at a lot of things than Lion-O is," Kit said. "He always has been. But when you spend time with them, you can tell why the Sword of Omens chose Lion-O."
"Tygra fights with a bola-whip," she continued. "He's also got a small laser gun that he took from the lizards. Plus he's got magic that lets him turn invisible! It's really cool, though I'm not sure if it's him doing it or if the whip is magic."
no subject
A curious look crosses his face, "I have never seen anyone fight with a whip before. What is it like and how does a laser gun work? I know a little about normal guns from being here, but I haven't ever seen anything about a laser gun before."
no subject
"And I don't think Tygra wants to be king as bad as he used to," Kit said, sounding a bit more thoughtful. "He was king for a little while while Lion-O was dead. But he never wanted it that way. And I don't think it was as easy as he thought it would be."
"I'm... not really sure how to describe fighting with a whip, though," Kit said. "It makes a loud crack when he snaps it and sometimes he can use it to wrap around people or things and tie them up."
"And there are different kinds of laser guns, but Tygra's is small. It's about this big," Kit held up her hands in front of her demonstrating the approximate size of the gun, "and he carries it in a holster at his hip. Laser guns shoot beams of light that can burn things or even make things blow up. Bigger ones can cause a lot of damage."
no subject
"I don't think being a king or a queen or any kind of ruler is ever as easy as people think it will be. That is why I will be happy being a knight. I will let others who are better at those kinds of things be the ruler. I will just go and protect those who need to be protected!" Diarmuid excitedly raises his fist into the air before remembering he is on a tree branch and putting his arm down again so he doesn't loose his balance.
"Both of those sound scary. Just in different ways! I don't want to run into anyone using weapons like that against me...though I would like to see them used sometime!" Especially the whip since Kit seems to be having a hard time describing it. Unlike the laser, it sounds like a person has to be really skilled to use a whip and that is the kind of thing that impresses Diarmuid. Skill, not just a lot of damage.
no subject
She nodded at the notion of both weapons being scary. "I haven't seen anybody with laser guns around here," Kit said. "At least, not that they've used. And it takes skill to use a whip without hurting yourself, so unless somebody comes here who knows how, we probably shouldn't try to do it ourselves or anything. Tygra's really good at it, though; he must've practiced a long time."
no subject
"Yes, we definitely can't practice with a weapon like that when we don't know how to. Weapons are not toys and have to be treated with respect!" Diarmuid falls silent for a moment as something crosses his mind, then a wide smile covers his face, "I want you to keep telling me stories, but lets go somewhere else!" He reaches out to lightly pull on her arm, "I want to take you out for your birthday! Ice cream or pizza or whatever you want!"
no subject
"And ice cream sounds really good," she said. "It's been awhile since I went out for ice cream."
Thread end?
"Ice cream and stories! It's a great way to spend the time on such an important day!"
