Water, water everywhere...
Who: Kit and anybody
The chocobos were agitated, squawking at one another and pawing the ground in their stalls. The flood hadn't yet penetrated their barn, but it soon would, and they could smell the rising water outside and sense danger.
Kit hurried to get Salali harnessed. "Easy girl," she murmured, petting her chocobo's head to soothe her. "It'll be alright. I know you don't like going out in the rain, but we have to. It's not safe to stay here. We've gotta get you and the other to higher ground."
Though even as she cinched up Salali's harness, Kit wondered how she was going to do that. Salali was used to her, so Kit could handle her easily despite her nervous state. But the other chocobos wouldn't be so easy to handle, especially for someone as small as herself. She could probably handle them, but only one at a time. And getting them to accept her hand to get them harnessed and lead them out would take time. Too much time. No way she'd be able to get even half of them to safety on her own before the flood waters closed in...
Kit leaned against the wall tiredly. That was the fifth box of books she'd brought up, and she'd barely cleared one shelf. The flood waters would soon reach the apartments, and when they did, not only would the people be in trouble, but the books in the library on the first floor would all be ruined. She recognized that the safety of people was more important, but still, all those books, all those stories and all that knowledge lost... she couldn't allow it! Not even if she had to haul everything to the upper floors herself.
So once she'd caught her breath she headed back down for another load. She had to get as many books upstairs as she could before the elevators stopped working. If they did, this was going to get a lot harder...
Where: The Chocobo Barn and the Guest Apartments
When: Backdated to the 19th
What: Flood event! Kit will be trying to get the Chocobos to safety on higher ground, then trying to save the books in Building 2's 1st floor library by getting them to higher floors. Help will be needed in both places.
Warnings: Flood related dangers maybe?

Kit urges Salali into motion, the chocobo pushing the stable doors open as they exit. Immediately the little group is pelted with cold rain. Salali tosses her head uncomfortably, but keeps moving forward, Kit keeping her at a walking pace so that Diarmuid can keep up. Persephone is not nearly so stoic about her dislike of the rain, squawking angrily at the sky the first time a drop falls in her eye, as if her anger alone could repel the bad weather.
Unfortunately, it cannot. But it does provide some entertainment on the rather muddy climb to higher ground. The trek isn't that long, really, though the weather makes it seem so. And the lights of the storage building that is their destination are a very welcome sight when they come into view.

Once they reach the storage building, the birds all but trample Diarmuid to get inside. It's a good thing the boy has good reflexes. He is able to get out of the way in time, but his foot slips and he ends up tumbling into the mud. Thankfully, he is not hurt. No one giggling like that could be. He is just very muddy now.
"Oops..."
Think we should wrap this one in another couple tags?
Inside, the chocobos Dairmuid brought go to join a number of others already there, most of them clustered around the building's heat vents and fluffing their feathers repeatedly in an attempt to get dry. Diarmuid may well see one horse there as well, standing among the birds. The floor has been scattered with a thin layer of straw, and larger piles of it are scattered here and there along the side walls. Along the far wall, large tubs of fresh water and feed have been set up. It's obviously hastily arranged, but serviceable enough. And most importantly well above the potential waterline.
Kit sighs and lowers her hood, climbing off Salali's back. She gives both Salali and Persephone a gentle pat. "Good girls," she says. "Go join your friends. We'll bring the rest of them up in a minute."
She lets both birds go, then turns back to Diarmuid. The only thing available is a slightly tattered old blanket draped over a nearby rail, so she offers him that to get the worst of the mud off. "Here, this should help for now," she says. "We''ll worry about getting them unharnessed... and cleaning up better... a little later. Right now we need to get the rest of them, but one more trip should do it. Ready?"
Sounds good to me!
"Blackie, you are safe!" The boy makes his way over to the horse to give her a quick pat on the neck. Blackie seems uneasy, but happy to see a familiar face, "I can't stay long right now, but I will stay longer once all the chocobos are up here with you, okay?"
Blackie tosses her head and Diarmuid gives her one more pat, before making his way to the door and giving Kit a nod, "Lets go get the rest of them. Everyone will feel better once they are all safe!" That said, he heads into the rain, pausing a moment to look back at Kit with a grin. "Beware of the mud or it will get you like it got me!"
Maybe one more should do it, ending with them heading down to the stable.
Kit giggles and puts her hood back up following Diarmuid out into the rain again. "Right," she says. "C'mon, the other chocobos are waiting for us."

He doesn't have a whole lot of hope that will happen, but it never hurts to think positive. Who knows? It just might happen!
