Who: Everyone who has enough proofs! Where: District 4 When: September 20th to October 4th Summary: There is a new district reopening, and the city needs your help to get it up and running! Warnings: Inbox death may occur. System overload at own risk. SOME NPC RESPONSES WILL BE SLOW UNTIL THE ONE WHO PLAYS THEM IS PRESENT. Also, remember that you can still submit proofs at any time here between now and October 4th to have your character be allowed in the new district before it's open to the public! Additionally, you are all free to start your own logs set in District 4 outside of this one, HOWEVER if you want your characters to explore in territory that hasn't been looked at yet, we ask you to please use this log! A different side of the city. Anyone hanging around the wall that blocks off the forth district will be in for a surprise on Friday - new signs are being put up, barricades are being torn down, and NPCs are standing around, both directing all the work and talking to anyone who approaches to enter. A few doctors are on standby as well. Any of the visitors who try to walk in will be redirected to these doctors, who will scan them, take a few measurements on some portable computers they've brought out, and then tell them their results - those who reach measurements that are high enough will be allowed to enter, and those who aren't will be turned away and asked to return when the district is more stable to avoid any health risks associated with the drain effect. They will then suggest to any characters turned away to try participating in more physical contact if they want to enter sooner rather than later. Those who are allowed to enter will immediately be greeted by a place very different from the rest of the city. The area is wide and open, with a path that's only loosely based on the locations of the few buildings around. Though much of it seems to be struggling to grow, particularly as the winter months begin to inch closer, there is nature and life all around - trees, large clearings that are or once were filled with grass, and most notably areas that seem designated for recreational activities, like swing sets and basketball courts. A perfect place to relax and have fun. Welcome to the parks and recreation district.

A gym? Oh man, yes! Please please please let there be a proper basketball court!

[Yuna's wasting no time in running right up to the front door.]

[ Far be it from Nanoha to get between a girl and her fitness, though she does notice the enthusiasm from a short distance away and makes her approach, calling out once she's closer. ] It seems that they wish for us to find more ways to stay active.

Well, I've definitely got no problems with that! Sitting around cuddling is nice and all, but you've gotta take care of your body too.

[Smiling, she gestures to the door as she finishes walking toward it.]

Thank you, Yuna. Despite how... sanctioned this all feels, I don't think it's best to go wandering around alone. [ Which Nanoha will find out is more distracting than anything. At least this way they have Raising Heart on alert for any sudden dangers.

She approaches the door, looking around the outside of the building cautiously. ]

Yeah, I guess you're right, especially since this just opened up.

[So let's slowly open up the front door!]

[It's dusty inside, that's for sure - this place still hasn't been cleaned up, and it shows! The electricity is working, though, so if they check by the information desk, they'll find a light switch. They'll also find a lot of empty spots that used to hold pamphlets.

The walls are covered in plaques and banners earned by various sports teams over a number of years, particularly in the schools - it seems like the city had some nice accomplishments in athletics!

The entrance hall opens right up into the gym, but they'll have to go into the main part of the building to get a good look at what's available. It's easy to see that there's a lot of equipment, though, at least in the first area.]

[ Nanoha steps in and is momentarily taken aback by the stale air, seeing just how filthy everything is once her eyes adjust. Raising Heart scans the layout of the room to find any signs of people or security systems, relaying the information right to her. ]

Hmm, it seems there's a good bit of work left to do in here. I wonder how long it's been like this. [ Not that it surprises her. Nanoha does move over to investigate the desk, thinking she might find some clue as to when this place was last in operation. A recreation center might have some kind of calendar of events, right? Or there could be dates on the pictures or awards displayed on the walls. ]

[Yuna coughs, waving her hand in front of her face to clear the air around her just a bit as she walks further in.]

Looks like it's been a while. I wonder if we're supposed to help clean it up? You think magic hugs will blow all the dust away?

[She's teasing, mostly. It would be nice, though.]

[ After a moment's distraction, she looks over to Yuna. ] That just might work. [ Who is to say that she was serious about it, either? ] It would be worth a try, unless you're eager to find the janitor's closet. [ Provided there even was one. ]

Well then, what are we waiting for?

[Laughing to herself, Yuna walks over, opening her arms wide and giving Nanoha a nice friendly hug. She holds it there for a few seconds, looking around to see if anything is changing around them.]

[ Nanoha is looking around with equal curiosity, not fully sure what she expected, but bracing herself all the same. That grip might be a bit on the tight side as a result, in case she needed to react quickly to any sudden changes. ]

"Hey!" [Comes a voice from nearby, once Yuna gets near something that does in fact look suspiciously like a real, well kept basketball court.] "Catch!"

[Followed by an orange ball getting thrown through the air. Close by, there's a girl who has switched back to her caucasian skin, standing in her sports gear with a hopeful and expectant expression. She's pretty sure she just did that throw right; and that's how you're supposed to invite someone to another game of basketball.]

Whoa!

[Yuna turns to the source of the sudden voice, and her finely honed basketball instincts kick in as she quickly brings her hands up to catch the ball. Grinning widely, she starts dribbling the ball in place.]

Nice pass! You've been practicing, haven't you?

[littlewhitelies]

"A little..." [She gets a hint of pink in her cheeks from the compliment, before trying to move past the reaction by rolling her shoulders in a shrug. It also loosens up the muscles, so she feels more limber and ready.] "I wanted our next game to go better than the last one. You know, less powers from me."

[And more moving around with her legs and hands. M'gann moves forward and into the court as she says that.]

Good! I was worried you were too embarrassed from before to keep trying.

[Grinning, she picks up the ball before checking it back to her.]

So, you want to go a few rounds right now?

[littlewhitelies]

"Well, maybe a little embarrassed...But not enough to be discouraged. It wasn't that bad,"

[Especially compared to other things; she'll gladly take what was the gentlest of chiding and encouragement over exclusion. It doesn't compare to what she was (and to a small degree, still is) afraid of.]

"I'm ready to try again, definitely. How about you? Do you need to stretch or anything?"

Yeah, good idea. We probably both should. Do you know how?

"Yeah; Black Ca...M-my trainer, I mean. Our physical trainer taught me how to stretch before practice."

[M'gann shoots Yuna an apologetic look over that fumbled speech. But if she's in civilian form and clothing, she might as well use non-superhero names. Plus, she's not sure how much clearance she has to talk about Black Canary in casual situations, anyway.

But to prove what she's saying, M'gann drops into a few stretches as well.]

"I guess...It's nice for me. I don't have to do a lot of stretching, thanks to how I am."

[Yuna blinks back at her for a moment, not entirely catching the reason for that look at first before realizing it's probably superhero stuff. Once she's put that together, she just nods.]

Oooh, yeah, I guess you probably wouldn't have to do a lot of that.

[Sitting down on the floor, Yuna stretches her legs out in front of her, bending forward to limber up a bit.]

[M'gann finishes her own stretches pretty quickly. She takes a few steps towards Yuna, planning on just keeping close until she's ready...Before M'gann's eyes fall on the basket ball. There's time for a little warm up with that as well, M'gann decides, so she picks it up and practices a little dribbling as well, turning in place while passing the ball between her hands as she looks over the gym.]

"This is sort of like back home," [She comments as she looks.] "Our school had a building that was a lot like this...Although it had a hornet painted in the middle of the floor."

[Yuna stands up after her first set of stretches, bending down to try to touch her toes and stretching her arms out above her head. She glances over to M'gann while she's still getting loose.]

Yeah, high school gyms are pretty much all more or less the same. Gotta have regulation courts and stuff, after all.

[And now she's finishing up, bouncing back and forth from foot to foot before taking a deep breath and nodding to herself.]

Okay, all set over here! You ready?

[M'gann's answer is a nod, followed by jumping forward as she tries some ball dribbling...And maybe getting past Yuna this time. She's tried to learn a little bit more, and she's also been getting her own practice (of sorts) in with dodging rooftops as she flies.

So with that in mind, M'gann tries feinting to the right, before dodging left and trying to run straight through. It's just...Harder to do all that when she's relying on just her feet, instead of levitation.]

[Yuna's right on top of it, stance low and arms splayed out wide to put up the biggest wall possible as she tries to defend. The feint works for the moment it needs to, but Yuna recovers quickly and soon she's running right up next to M'gann, reaching out with her arm to try to knock the ball away.]
