Where: Mostly Districts 2 and 3

Summary: In light of the new district reopening, there's still a lot to do! This log is open to everyone if they want to see what else is going on in the city, or help with some important tasks.
Warnings: Inbox death may occur. System overload at own risk. SOME NPC RESPONSES WILL BE SLOW UNTIL THE ONE WHO PLAYS THEM IS PRESENT.

I'm only happy when it rains...

Some of the natives have been busy. There's a little stand set up in the plaza that wasn't there before. They have minions, too: people with clipboards are assaulting recent arrivals on the street with requests. It seems that most of the employees are helping with the district reopening, and that means everyone else is incredibly understaffed.

But wait! Don't walk away! If your character helps with some of the chores around the city, they'll get a little money added to their stipend, as well as a coupon to the new store opening today in District 3.

District 2
Residents will be asked to help hang up tiny twinkling lights in the trees lining the streets, nothing so fancy as during the summer festival but something with lasting power throughout the oncoming rainfall. There are water fountains that need to be insulated, gigantic mountains of leaves that should be disposed of, and plants requiring trimming.

District 3
In addition to the winterization chores going on in the second district, the shopping district has their own problems to take care of. Large potted plants need to be moved inside-- that's a job for physically fit characters-- and little tents need to be taken down. Oh, and they need lights in the trees here, too.

New Store
There is a lot of excitable chattering surrounding the new store on the main shopping street. The sign is currently covered in plastic and unreadable.

Boxes
Near the water, groups of trees, or small parks, characters might stumble upon a group of canvas-covered boxes and someone desperately looking for help with them. There are a lot, after all.

Three! [And wow it was pretty heavy, but doable. She shifted so that the weight wasn't straining both and she motioned to the door.]

All right, I'll lead then.

[ There's a small grimace because he isn't used to carrying things actually straining his arms, that mostly just happens in fights, and he's already thinking this'll be his last plant relocating, but he gives a nod (as well as that can be seen with the big plant between them). ] Okay.

[Backing up, she lead them into the sheltered area as she stooped down, grimacing a little.] Okay, okay, easy, lower it down carefully...

[ Lowering, lowering, lower--SMACK. ...Not quite dropped, but Cloud's side definitely hit the ground faster than intended. He scowls at the plant, momentarily shuts his eyes, then sighs and squats down to see if he did anything to the pot. ]

That didn't want to go slow. [ Oh sure Cloud, blame the pot. ]

Plants are very temperate... [Rin looked over him and frowned a little.] Are you sure your okay? You don't look well.

[ He scuffs the hair on the back of his head. ] ...That obvious, huh. It's nothing to worry about. Just the whole "touch" thing. Haven't done it enough, apparently.

Oh I see. So this is a sign of how bad it can get I take it. [Rin would offer to give him a quick hug if he felt like it, but she was wondering if he would even accept it. Well, no harm in asking.]

Need a hug?

Yeah. [ Sheepish. ...On the upside, the worst he's found on the pot is a hairline crack; he doubts it'll get worse. Unless some genius lifts it up and drops it again.

That he winces at the hug offer is rather telling of why he's in this situation in the first place; he's not a touchy person, and asking for help or being offered it can be embarrassing. ] You don't have to. [ is a kneejerk answer before his upset stomach reminds him that the passing moments of contact he has had? Not cutting it. ] ...As long as it doesn't bother you. It'd help.

I don't mind. It'll probably help you regain some of your strength back and we need it for moving more plants.

[Rin was used to hugging anyhow, so she moved over and gave him a hug, her arms wrapping around his waist for a long moment, just to make sure he got enough contact.]

[ Her reasoning gets a flicker of a smile from him. ] It's all about the plants, huh? [ Definitely reminding him a bit of Aerith. And then--ope, hug. ...After a few seconds of having no idea what he should do with his arms, what would be okay, he lifts his left hand and just... pats her back a little. He thinks that's all right. ]

Well yeah, it helps to think of it that way. [Rin was quite Aerith-like in a lot of ways, if a lot more reaction-tier. She holds the hug long enough and then releases him with a grin.]

There we go. Feel better?

[ The way he takes that... well, he's not surprised to think it's awkward even for the friendlier people. Just makes her nicer for doing it anyway. ]

Better. [ He can tell already that he needs to get in more touch at some point, or maybe rest; the strength he's feeling isn't a mako-enhanced one.

But it's a second wind, and that prompts him to get back to standing on his feet with a loose swing of his arms, heading out for another pot to bring in. ] So let's get more of these guys out of the cold. [ ...Hopefully no more huge ones like that pot just now, though. ]

Sounds great. And just ask if you need another hug. [Moving over to the pots, she picked up a medium sized plant and started to carry it in, looking over her shoulder at Cloud.] You're sure you are okay right?

It--takes time to get completely back to normal. Doesn't it? [ He doesn't know for sure, but it makes sense to him; it took a while to get sick in the first place.

Also his face is flushing at her doublechecking on him. Embarrassed. Very quickly picking up a nearby pot, okay. ]

I'm fine.

I would probably think so. Maybe a couple more hugs or a half an hour tops? I don't know exactly how long it takes to recover. [And yeah, she didn't like getting sick. It was something Rin took care not to let happen to her.]

Okay then, just making sure.

[ Of course, she'd have to get sick first to know the recovery rate. He knew he'd be worse at the touch thing than other people, so it should be no surprise he's finding out the downsides before others. ]

Mm. [ A little sound to show he's hearing her, but yes, he's very sure he's okay. ...Will be okay. ] ...Thank you. I'm Cloud, by the way.

[And Rin was very touchy with Yuna after all, so that helped out.]
