Save Our Parks! (OPEN)

Who: Everyone
Where: Mostly Districts 2 and 3
When: 20th September
Summary: In light of the new district reopening, there's still a lot to do! This log is open to everyone if they want to see what else is going on in the city, or help with some important tasks.
Warnings: Inbox death may occur. System overload at own risk. SOME NPC RESPONSES WILL BE SLOW UNTIL THE ONE WHO PLAYS THEM IS PRESENT.

I'm only happy when it rains...

Some of the natives have been busy. There's a little stand set up in the plaza that wasn't there before. They have minions, too: people with clipboards are assaulting recent arrivals on the street with requests. It seems that most of the employees are helping with the district reopening, and that means everyone else is incredibly understaffed.

But wait! Don't walk away! If your character helps with some of the chores around the city, they'll get a little money added to their stipend, as well as a coupon to the new store opening today in District 3.

District 2
Residents will be asked to help hang up tiny twinkling lights in the trees lining the streets, nothing so fancy as during the summer festival but something with lasting power throughout the oncoming rainfall. There are water fountains that need to be insulated, gigantic mountains of leaves that should be disposed of, and plants requiring trimming.

District 3
In addition to the winterization chores going on in the second district, the shopping district has their own problems to take care of. Large potted plants need to be moved inside-- that's a job for physically fit characters-- and little tents need to be taken down. Oh, and they need lights in the trees here, too.

New Store
There is a lot of excitable chattering surrounding the new store on the main shopping street. The sign is currently covered in plastic and unreadable.

Boxes
Near the water, groups of trees, or small parks, characters might stumble upon a group of canvas-covered boxes and someone desperately looking for help with them. There are a lot, after all.

YOU MAY NOW REPLY. Thank you for your patience!

NPCs will pop into the last two sections. Otherwise, comment and threadjack at will.

[The entire time he was explaining, Pilouette had been watching intently, carefully listening to his instructions. Untying these knots is definitely more complicated than untying her shoes.]

I...I think so. This is the first time I've dealt with knots like these, though...

[personal profile] alwaysloyal 2013-11-10 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
There is no need to worry. I'll assist you whenever you find yourself stuck.

[And he will remain by her side even as he guides her to the next knot from the other side of the tent as he took care of the first.]

Just remember the first rule and instructions from before, then you will be fine. Give it a try. I will be here if you need any help.
ribbonbon: (Oh...)

[She nods and gets to work. She slowly begins loosening the knot, carefully pulling and pushing the rope through the various loops, thinking back to Soushi's instructions and demonstration. Still working, she glances back to him after a moment.]

Um, am I doing alright so far?

[personal profile] alwaysloyal 2013-11-12 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. You are doing very well for a beginner.

[He will smile as he carefully examines the noose and her technique from before.]

Take your time with it. [But.] I do recommend if you...

[He will begin to explain and show Pilouette over a new trick to untying ropes that will make it easier is by figuring out which string and in which position is the central string keeping the knot in place. Guiding her hand to the string, Soushi will release her hand and return her space.]

Try to undo this piece of rope from the knot like I briefly explained earlier.

[Once he lets go of her hand, Pilouette nods and goes back to untying the knot. Her expression is probably more serious than one would expect from someone untying a knot, but...well, this is Pilouette. She does her best to do as Soushi told her and...

A few moments later, she looks back to him, the untied rope in hand.]

H-Hey! I did it!

[Many people probably wouldn't be so proud of untying a knot, but Pilouette takes these small victories when she can.]

[personal profile] alwaysloyal 2013-11-14 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
[The untying of the rope will have Soushi smile as brightly at the other girl's success. He was glad she was able to do it on her own. An applause will be given as she celebrated her victory. He was happy for her triumph as well.]

And a job well-done it was. Congratulations.

[He will begin to lower half of the tent now that two ropes were untied. It won't be long until he returns his attention to the younger girl and smiles.]

Could you take care of the rope at the left end? I will work on the right, then we can lower the rest of the tent to the ground. I know I can count on you now that you know how to successfully untie the ropes.

Got it!

[She gets to work untying the left rope. Having now done it once and encouraged by Soushi's praise, she seems to be just a bit faster at it this time. It's not long before she has it untied.]

There we go...!

[personal profile] alwaysloyal 2013-11-16 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[Just as she announces her triumph in her success of untying the ropes, Soushi will begin to remove the rest of the tent tarp out of the poles, and remove the ropes from the small holes that help keep the tent in place.

It will not be long until he turns to the younger girl.]

Now we only need to fold the tarp, and we will be done with this tent.

[He will dust the tarp off, then take the two ends of the object.]

If you can or wish, please take a hold of the opposite end of the tent's material. I will need a second pair of hands to successfully fold the item together.
ribbonbon: (a tiny bit of happiness)

[personal profile] ribbonbon 2013-11-17 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! Maybe it's kind of like folding bed sheets...

[She stands, taking her end of the tent in both hands and smiles a little.]

This part should be easy enough. I've done this tons of times! ...Well, like, not with tents, but...It's the same thing, right?

[personal profile] alwaysloyal 2013-11-20 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It's about the same way, but a little different. Why don't we fold the tents as we do bedsheets? I will follow your lead.

[He was glad to hear the other girl was talented in folding and maybe even doing laundry. Most of the girls he has encounter are not as reliable in the aspect of house work. He was used to doing almost every thing on his own.]
ribbonbon: (Ahahaa...)

[personal profile] ribbonbon 2013-11-22 10:03 am (UTC)(link)
[She's a little surprised. Pilouette didn't expect him to ask her to take charge.]

O-Oh... Uh, o-okay! It's a little bigger than bed sheets, but...it's still basically the same. Probably.

[Firmly holding her end of the tent by the corners, she begins moving toward Soushi, meaning to fold the material in half.]

[personal profile] alwaysloyal 2013-11-26 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Soushi will follow after Pilouette's lead as he moves closer to fold the tent in half alongside her. He will continue to smile as he offers an enthusiastic nod as indication for the other girl to continue. After all, it would seem as though offering the younger girl the lead was slowly boosting her confidence, a task he has been slowly helping her in.]

What do we do now, Bonheur-sensei?
ribbonbon: (Ahahaa...)

[personal profile] ribbonbon 2013-11-27 09:12 am (UTC)(link)
Sen...? Huh? [Pilouette can't help but feel a little flustered at being addressed so formally. Or so she assumes. She doesn't know much about the Japanese language.] U-Um, y-you can just call me Pilouette, you know?

Uh, anyway, we just need to fold it in half again. So, um, we each need to take an end again, just like last time and... [She takes hold of one of the bottom corners, moving to fold it once again.]
