Who: Everyone! Where: City wide event! When: November 23rd to November 30th Summary: Seasons change, and in a dramatic way! Warnings: 100% chance of heavy rainfall, and a good chance of musical numbers.
There's a definite change in the seasons.
In between the initial rain showers the locals are preparing for the change in the weather, making sure their roofs are sturdy and mended, windows are closed and secured, supplies are ready...Those who help out, or have helped in prior events might even find a care package prepared and left in the lobby of their apartment, or outside their door. (The contents being a few days worth of simple food; rice gimbap, some fruits, etc. And a few candles as well.) If asked, they say that the seasons are shifting, and the rainy season will be here in full force soon.
...And sure enough if a few days, on the morning of the 23rd, the weather DOES shift, and those clouds that have been gathering and sprinkling finally let loose with all that stored up rain. It falls in light drizzles, heavy torrents, gentle misting curtains, but most key of all it NEVER lets up. There's always some precipitation going.
That said, it might be good to head out with an umbrella when heading out. There's something about some of these storms that's odd; maybe it's just the mood that comes with the rain, the rhythm of the drops on the roofs and the ground, but...There's something almost musical about it at times. Sort of reminds one of a song, in fact!

Singing event >D [OPEN]
It was odd but for some reason some songs he knew well wouldn't stop playing in his head. "Huh. That's weird." He meant to simply mumble to himself but the words came out much louder and much more melodic. "Whoa! What's wrong with my voice? ♫ It's a little bit funny... This feeling inside. I'm not one of those who can easily hide. ♪"
He meant to cover his mouth with his hand but his arms were full with groceries. "I'm singing in the rain?! JUST SINGING IN THE RAIN?" What was going on? He could feel an excitement, a great desire and overwhelming emotion growing in his chest. "I've got a feeling! Wooo-oooooh! That tonight's gonna be a good night! AAAAAAH!" This was really starting to disturb him but it was too late. Something inside of him just wanted to sing... Anything that came to mind.
Passersby and those in the nearby buildings would soon be treated to the sound of an array of very patriotic American songs, both classic and new, with occasional other tunes thrown in. He wasn't a bad singer but he started to repeat the same songs over and over again. Perhaps if someone saved him from the rain or got him to think about something else, the area could be saved from hearing Yankee Doodle Dandy for the tenth time.
let's make this worse! :D
Her voice is actually pretty good, though of course she sounds nothing like Don McLean.
"A long, long time ago
I can still remember how that music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while
But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died....
oh no
So bye-bye, Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin' "This'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die" ♫
muhahaha
"Did you write the book of love
And do you have faith in God above
If the Bible tells you so?
Now do you believe in rock and roll
Can music save your mortal soul
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?"
Of course, the walking over is becoming a bit more of a dance at this point, but she's a bit beyond giving a damn. She stops a few feet away and holds out her arms to offer grocery help. He can hardly dance so loaded down, after all.
"Well, I know that you're in love with him
'Cause I saw you dancin' in the gym
You both kicked off your shoes
Man, I dig those rhythm and blues
I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died...."
Rustling in the bushes indicates that the mysterious music source is following them....

He's confused about where the background music is coming from- was there a karaoke machine hiding somewhere nearby? Or was he somehow caught up in a Flash Mob? But where were all the other people?
He nods at her and grins when she offers him a hand with the groceries and passes one of the bags on to her. More free now, he can join her dancing. Sure he has the choice not to but are you kidding? He loves to dance and the music sounds great.

Don Mclean wrote some damn long songs, but she keeps on with it gamely as she dances in the rain. She's careful of the bag, because Murphy's Law dictates that if she isn't it will turn out she got the one with the eggs in it. Meanwhile she's dancing with him in the direction he was headed, figuring whatever weirdness is turning her life into a musical number shouldn't leave the ice cream to melt.

Unfortunately, what comes out of his mouth isn't any kind of objection, but: "I come from Alabama, with a banjo on my knee-" He shuts his mouth so fast there's almost a snap, but the desire's still there. What the hell.
