Who: Everyone! Where: City wide event! When: November 23rd to November 30th Summary: Seasons change, and in a dramatic way! Warnings: 100% chance of heavy rainfall, and a good chance of musical numbers.
There's a definite change in the seasons.
In between the initial rain showers the locals are preparing for the change in the weather, making sure their roofs are sturdy and mended, windows are closed and secured, supplies are ready...Those who help out, or have helped in prior events might even find a care package prepared and left in the lobby of their apartment, or outside their door. (The contents being a few days worth of simple food; rice gimbap, some fruits, etc. And a few candles as well.) If asked, they say that the seasons are shifting, and the rainy season will be here in full force soon.
...And sure enough if a few days, on the morning of the 23rd, the weather DOES shift, and those clouds that have been gathering and sprinkling finally let loose with all that stored up rain. It falls in light drizzles, heavy torrents, gentle misting curtains, but most key of all it NEVER lets up. There's always some precipitation going.
That said, it might be good to head out with an umbrella when heading out. There's something about some of these storms that's odd; maybe it's just the mood that comes with the rain, the rhythm of the drops on the roofs and the ground, but...There's something almost musical about it at times. Sort of reminds one of a song, in fact!

Open!
So they needed his help, then. Truly. Honestly. Who was he to say no, when he'd seen that he could be of help to people, bringing the swim team together and mending broken friendships?
Rei was different now, calmer (somewhat), and a little more positive. He was glad of it, feeling like a new man. But he wished it'd stop raining. How many people would catch a cold out here, standing around and singing like there wasn't a care in the world? Hadn't there just been malevolent entities plaguing the city? What changed?
Clutching his umbrella closer, he hurried along down the sidewalk. He had to get to the rec center and get a bit of swimming practice in before it got dark.
No distractions. No exceptions.
Hope I can pop in!
"Ryugazaki-san!"
Grinning, she ran out into the rain, hoping to catch him before he disappeared. He was walking pretty fast, and it took her a moment to catch up. A bit out of breath, she matched his pace, ignoring the rain for a moment to greet him. But when she opened her mouth, a greeting is not what came out. In a surprisingly earnest voice she began to sing.
Do you remember I searched you out
How I climbed your city's walls
Do you remember me as devout
How I prayed for your calls
Shocked, she slapped a hand across her mouth, shocked and embarrassed. That was not at all what she meant to say. Or sing.
gosh ew no god (Of course you can, don't be silly)
It was good to see a familiar face so soon after his return. He slowed to let her catch up, figuring he can spare a stroll for a friend rather than hurry along to the pool. He held out the umbrella to shield her as well, feeling a bit of the misty rain against his skin in turn and paying it no heed. He didn't have the biggest umbrella, but he hadn't expected to walk with someone.
Rei froze when Fuuka's voice took a lyrical turn, eyebrows lifted.
"Is... is there a song stuck in your head today?" He asked politely. He knew about earworms, and maybe she just felt like belting it out?
no subject
"...s-sorry," she said, immediately sighing in relief, "Sorry, I...I didn't have control of what I was saying...er...singing."
Blushing, she dropped her gaze, embarrassed the more she thought about it. Pressing her hands to her cheeks, she shook her head.
"I-I really am sorry about that...though I am glad to see you again, Ryugazaki-san."
no subject
Which didn't make any sense, evidenced by how he trailed off and looked perplexed.
"How can you be so flawless?
How can you be so flawless..."
blinkblink.
"I'm sorry, I-
Have you ever heard a calling
But you don't know where the sound is coming from?
Sometimes love
Is talking in a whisper
Do you ever feel like falling
For someone you never thought of falling for?
But without him
Though you move you're getting no-where
Tell me
Who is in your heart now
When Leonard Cohen is singing "Hallelujah"?
Who is in your heart now?"
...
"th-this is... this is a problem! Why am I singing!?"
no subject
"I don't know! Maybe I've infected you!"
Shaking her head, she was about to suggest them parting ways until the 'sing-demic' was over, but what came out was almost a response to his song.
Somewhere across the night sky
I can hear a voice from afar,
All you long for, all your desires
Fuel the magic and the light of the stars
I could not imagine
A world without your dreaming,
When you gaze upon me
I believe in love, so I'd like to see you through
Tucked away inside my heart
A fragile moon resides, reflecting all these feelings,
I only hope its light illuminates your path
So that you may walk on forever
Her voice was wavering, and strained on the high notes, but it was heartfelt. Though she couldn't really explain why. Pressing her hand to her mouth again, she wondered what this was all about. This was becoming rather strange...as if it wasn't already.

"D-don't misunderstand me! These songs are not of my choice; you are a warm-hearted individual and you've been such great help to me, but my thoughts and consideration for you are purely on friendly terms!" Oh, he was waving a hand and trying to rectify the situation but he wasn't even sure he was doing this the way he truly wanted to!
no subject
"I-I feel the same for you! I am not choosing these songs either so do not worry, I understand what you mean. I am glad we are able to speak...for the moment at least."
She looked around, not seeing anyone else. Maybe that was for the best.
Using their momentary use of their words, she turned her attention back to him, speaking quickly.
"And you said this has been happening to others today?"
no subject
But he sighed. There was nothing unusual going on around here save for the singing itself, which left him out of ideas on what it could be.
That, and Rei lacked imagination.
no subject
"...do you know how long it has been happening? Perhaps if we can pin point when it started, we can find it's cause."
She looked up at Rei, amazed the two of them fit under the umbrella, and saw how concerned he looked. Reaching out she touched his arm, hoping to sooth him a little. Even after their...kind of embarrassing songs, she still thought touch might help. It had so far.
no subject
"I hadn't heard the singing in the apartments. No, everyone was singing in the streets, but once I'd gone into a building, it was gone." He shook his head.
"Which makes no sense...!"
no subject
She murmured, glancing around. If only was happening outside, then there must be something going on there that wasn't indoors. And she hadn't started singing until...a light bulb went off in her head
"...until I walked into the rain!" she exclaimed, gripping Rei's arm. Looking out at the drizzle, she thought a moment, then stepped out from under the umbrella. The rain was warm, and didn't feel any different then regular rain. But that didn't mean much. After several seconds, she looked back at him and opened her mouth.
Do you ever miss the girl
You left behiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind?
The note was very high and poor Fuuka was not equipped to sing it, and she quickly cut herself off by slapping a hand across her mouth. Looking at Rei wide eyed for a moment, she started to giggle, which turned into laughter as she hurried back under the umbrella. Excited she had been correct, she tried to tell him.
Is the girl you left behind
Out there tonight romancin?
Makin eyes at someone else
And singin? Is she dancin?
A hand on her mouth again, she couldn't help but laugh again, now more amused then embarrassed or scared. What a strange place this was!
no subject
Most.
Face colored, the frown deepened. He looked confused more than anything else. W-why on earth was she laughing about all of this, when she was singing embarrassing things??
"I-if I'm going to sing things of that nature, I want nothing to do with this rain... curse...!" Whatever this was. He didn't like it at all, but was anyone surprised with this sort-of killjoy? But as he looked away he looked a little put-off. A lot of these songs have been rather intimate, and he was wondering if Saeng Seong itself was mocking him.
no subject
"Y-you're right...I'm sorry, I got carried away. Perhaps...we should find a place indoors, and wait it out. Maybe a resident knows what is happening."
no subject
"I just hope this isn't unusual for them as well." He'll lead the way, holding the umbrella in such a way to cover them both. N-no more music...!
no subject
"I-I'm sure someone has to know something. This can't just be a single phenomenon..." But they were on a strange planet, and like she said, there was no sense here.
