☃ While the merry bells keep ringing
Who: Everyone who wants to show up
Where: Building One- The Lobby
When: December 24th, early evening
Summary: When Cupid says she's throwing a party, she throws a party- and pretty much everyone's invited, if they want to be.
Warnings: Excessive Holiday Cheer and overall Cuteness Overload.
'Tis the Season
[Cupid has never been the type to do anything halfway- and that includes celebrating.
With the help of everyone who had offered, the main lobby of Building One had been rearranged, decorated, and generally spruced up in order to prepare for the party. There are small, bright lights strung between garlands and in long streams against the walls, snowflake cutouts hanging from wherever they could be attached, and the food tables are flanked by small, light-laden shrubs. A spot has been cleared near a wall for a gilded mirror roughly the size of a tablet, somehow hooked up to a pair of speakers and playing Christmas music just loud enough to be audible over people as they mingle. There's even a tree of sorts against one of the walls, complete with a bright star.
The hostess herself and her tiny assistant greet everyone at the door as best they can, and Cupid makes sure to take the Secret Santa gifts from those participating to put away until it's time to hand them out, and always, always chirps out a-]

Happy Holidays! Enjoy the party!
[-before moving on to greet the next entering guest.
Of course, Cupid being Cupid, there are a few hidden bits of mistletoe around- but decidedly nowhere that they'll be seen unless someone is looking for them.
So by all means, everyone eat, drink, and be merry! It's all in the spirit of the holiday, after all! Careful about starting any trouble though- Cupid won't stand for anyone ruining the party.]
Mingle Threads
Open Threads (those marked with a star have not been tagged)
((OOC: I'll be doing my best to keep up with linking everyone's open threads, and I'll be available via both PM and AIM to troubleshoot any issues. Feel free to shoot me a line on either! Otherwise, have fun, and happy holidays Rekindle!
Edit A: Feel free to start your own threads if you like, the mingle threads are just to give ideas!
Edit B: Secret Santa gifts can be PMed to me and I will relay them to the recipients!))

That is to say, M'gann somehow manages to brighten up even more at the introduction. She even floats a little...Though she reminds herself to keep at least a slight bit of gravity stuck to her feet, and keeping her mostly at eye level. That's supposed to be important with making friends.]
"And I'm M'gann! M'gann M'orzz, good to meet you!"
[Do they get to shake hands now? That seems like a good next step, and M'gann floats her gift in one hand while extending the other.]

U-Um, okay, omigosh, I'm like, totally sorry if this is like super rude but like, how are you doing that? It's totally kind of cool...!
no subject
[And asking is a lot better than freaking out...Even if M'gann herself keeps forgetting that levitating things isn't always seen as normal, whether she's wearing a green skin while doing so or not.
Besides, she just got called cool and ohgoshhowisthatnotexciting? Of course she's going to have a chirp in her voice as she answers!]
"If I just reach out with my thoughts, I can move something around psychically! It's not too different from using my hands, but...I guess I'm more used to levitating things, instead of just touching and lifting them?"
no subject
O-Oh! Um, I think I get it! That's pretty amazing to be able to do something like that, you know? Like, it must be pretty convenient, too. Not having to worry about high shelves or not having to walk away from the stove when you're cooking to grab something...!
[No, there are probably more important applications of powers like that...]
no subject
[...Well, maybe she doesn't know. She looks pretty human, and probably has the temperature tolerance to go with it.
Still, M'gann nods over the rest.]
"I like being able to use my mind like that, too. Though...Most of my family can do the same. And the others on Mars."
no subject
[Wait, wait. What was that she said?]
Did you say, um, Mars? Um, like, the planet?
[She's met people from other worlds but she wonders if it's the same Mars she's thinking of. After all, she's learned that she can't really tell in this place.]
no subject
[M'gann pauses for a moment after list that, considering. This isn't the first bit of surprise she's gotten; maybe a little more information might help with that bewildered look?]
"Though I don't see the moons very often; I don't think many people do, given how much of the civilization is underground. The surface isn't that hospitable."
[Then again, 'hospitable' isn't what she'd use to describe the ACTUAL civilization either...But she doesn't want to bring that up just yet. Or ever.]
no subject
[She's never met someone from Mars before. She didn't know life on Mars existed. Pilouette figures she probably shouldn't say that though; it seems like it would be rude to say.]
Underground, huh...? Life on Mars sounds kinda rough. But, uh, like, how are you liking...well, I can't say for sure if this is Earth. How are you liking...Not-Mars?
no subject
[She certainly sounds enthusiastic enough over the subject, too.]
"I saw television programs about Earth before I arrived, too, so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect."
[And going by that light in her eyes, what she expected was MAGICAL WONDER AND OPPORTUNITY. And apparently got just that.]
no subject
I guess it would take getting used to people not having powers like that just like it's a little hard for me to get used to so many people here having them. Back home powers and stuff like that only existed in like, movies and stuff. It's all like, kind of amazing, you know?
...But they really had shows about Earth on Mars? Like, how did they stack up to the real thing?
[Considering she didn't even know Mars had TV until now, she's pretty interested.]
no subject
[She gives a shy smile, before adding.]
"In a lot of ways, it's even better."
no subject
That's good to hear. ...I'd actually feel kind of bad if it turned out Earth was worse than expected.
[Not that she would have felt responsible, but still, it's always kind of a downer to find out someone thinks your home (or homeworld) isn't that great. However...she's pretty into this whole conversation. After all, she's talking to someone form Mars! That's like talking to a famous person or something, isn't it?]
Especially since you came all the way from another planet...traveling all that way must have been like, really something. Going overseas is one thing, but traveling through space is like, a different league, right?
[Though this is all from an Earth perspective, but...]
