Call to Hamburger Duty
Who: America and anyone stopping by
Where: America's burger restaurant, District 1
When: Jan 9
Summary: America is taking care of the last preparations before he opens his restaurant. Those who agreed to help him with the menu, wanted cooking lessons, or were interested in working there can stop by. (Walk-ins also welcome.)
Warnings: none
America had managed to find a retail space for rent on a street corner near the edge of districts 1 and 2. It wasn't on the busiest street- a couple blocks from one of the heavy traffic roads but it was decent for a start. Before opening he had to make some last arrangements, most importantly hiring staff and finalizing the menu.
He sent out an invitation on the network to the other city visitors to stop by and taste test items or come in for a job interview. When the time came, he went to the location of his business and fired things up in the kitchen to prepare.

Job Interview ahoy! That and unsoggy fries!
But secretly he was kinda glad those hadn't panned out; after talking with America-- LITERALLY America in human form-- he'd hoped he could get a job at his restaurant if the plans went through. The guy seemed really nice; the type of person Junpei wouldn't mind working under if he could choose!
Seeing the message on the network that day from the guy that the restaurant was ready to hire had Junpei bolt back up to his apartment to find some better clothing to wear. Gotta look good to have a chance right? Heading back out, resume in hand, Junpei found where the place was set up and opened up the door, leaning inside and calling out.
"Yo! Anyone in here?"
...Maybe that wasn't the best way to introduce himself in person, but oh well!

"Are you here for those unsoggy fries I promised you?"
Wowo I am trash, I'm sorry!
He was going to add 'dude' to that as well, But uh, that wasn't exactly proper to say to a possible boss. He should be showing more respect, but for some reason America put him at ease.
Well, he did always say he wished he was born in the USA, after all. Taking a seat, Junpei took a breath of that grease and fries sent and let out a happy sigh. He didn't realise how much he missed burgers!
"Hell yeah I'm here for that! And uh, maybe another thing too..."

So he steps into the new burger restaurant, although he doesn't go to find America just yet. Instead the guy just stands in the door frame, looking from side to side with great interest like he's never seen a place like this before. ]

He found the space easily. England marched right inside to have a look around while he waited for America to notice him.

Alfred was in the middle of flipping patties and loudly whistling This Land is Your Land when Arthur walked in. He was so in the zone starting to build burgers, he didn't see him standing there still after a couple minutes.

"Someone sure looks pleased with themselves."

"You're supposed to be working on getting home," he scoffed. "Or have you forgotten that we have responsibilities?"
no subject
"Have some faith in me will ya? I'm working a plan here. Once my restaurant takes off I'll have Saeng Seong eating out of the palm of my hand- just, not literally, off of my plates really."
no subject
"Whatever," he said dismissively. In the end, England usually backed-up America's ideas. They shared a lot of things, like their language and television shows. When it came to it, England knew America was strong, and in times of war, he was almost always on America's side.

"So... You gonna have some? I know you like fries." America shoved a plate decked with a burger and fries towards England.

He mumbled an affirmation, eyes darting off to the side as he chewed on his hamburger. Yes, they had spent Christmas together.

[He more or less barrels into the door and makes a beeline into the kitchen.]
Yay! Congratulations for finally doing it, Lord America! Can I try some burgers? Can I come work for you? What's all this stuff?
[He peers around the store, noticing all the packed and unpacked equipment.]

[America starts to build the most basic of burgers starting with one of the freshly cooked patties. After a piling on the toppings and buns, he sets it on a plate which he offers to Cu Chulainn.]
It's still a little hot so be careful. I'll get you a drink and fries too. Just a minute...
no subject
Yum! It's so delicious!
[He doesn't even wait to swallow before talking, resulting in muffled speech and beef bits flying out of his mouth.]
no subject
I told you it was! This is one of the most popular foods in my country.
[A moment later he shoveled some fries onto Cu Chulainn's plate.]
These are fries. French fries, though I don't think they actually have anything to do with France. They're way more American if you ask me. They're real good dipped in ketchup. But some people like 'em plain. [He dumped a small amount of ketchup on the corner of the plate.]
Uh. Maybe you should sit down. Here. [He walked over to the nearest table and pulled out a chair for his guest.]
no subject
These are good too! All American food is good!
no subject
Have you had soda yet? Or a milkshake during your time here?
no subject
No, sir! I've only drunk juice!

[He turns back to the burger and begins eating more bites of it.]
no subject
That's cola flavor soda. Give it a taste.
no subject
It's tickling my tongue! And it takes so different from all the other soda!

[Yuna's at the burger joint bright and early wearing a chipper smile and a waitress outfit. Also cat ears for some reason. But she's got her pad and pen and is ready to serve some customers.]
no subject
[He stares up at the ceiling looking thoughtful for a moment then asks]
Any other talents you'd like to mention for your resume before I make the final choice to hire you or not? [Because he's just so "professional." As if she doesn't already have this in the bag.]

Oh man I sure hope we don't have to worry about pervs but that's a good skill. Doesn't hurt to be prepared. There's always at least one jerk in every city. [He crinkled his nose at the thought. America went to the counter and grabbed a plate, which he offered to her.]
One last test- you have to like the product if you're going to sell it. [Fries and a burger were both hot and ready to eat on the plate.]

[Grinning, Yuna takes a seat so she can properly savor the meal. Picking up the burger, she takes a big bite, chewing it over and humming thoughtfully to herself before swallowing.]
...Delicious!
[Big thumbs up over here!]
no subject
[He gives her a wink.]
no subject
[Salute!]
no subject
[He pauses to consider.]
Hey, maybe that's what I should call this place. Hamburger Duty!
