INTRO LOG - FEBRUARY 2014
Who: Everyone
Where: The Welcome Center
When: 18th February, evening
Summary: The new arrivals, freshly pulled from their worlds or others, awaken in a strange place...
Warnings: Inbox death may occur. System overload at own risk. SOME NPC RESPONSES WILL BE SLOW UNTIL THE ONE WHO PLAYS THEM IS PRESENT.
It's a shuddering breath, a sensation of being pulled to elsewhere and finding oneself pressed against something on the soft and some place cozy. However, before one can fully stir, there is and odd, warm stirring sensation that lifts you up from wherever you've been dropped, when you begin to drift off once more.
Yet the feeling passes quickly, and when you awaken, you begin to realize your surroundings. It's a small room with what some might recognize as a Far Eastern theme when it comes to decor, from the walls to the sofa (or bed) you find yourself on. Illumination is provided by carefully crafted lamps, and even a candle flickering on a nearby desk. The doors are made from paper and wood, with a thin frame; through them it's easy to hear other people stirring, talking, or coming to.
You are not alone...
The people who arranged this room aren't stingy with treats, either. Close by is a plate full of mostly benign chocolates...Though there isn't any milk on hand to go with them. There's also the sound of more noise from further downstairs, and even the faint whiff of something warm and tasty. And to add to all of that, close at hand there's a note that reads:
WELCOME CENTER
Newcomers: Please come downstairs to the lobby for refreshments and your welcome packets!
(PS: This includes milk.)
Odd... This wasn't written in your own language, and yet you find it easily understandable. Soon enough, if you don't enter on your own, there's a gentle knocking on the door as someone comes from downstairs to usher you along.
"Welcome to Saeng Seong! I know you must be confused as to where you are and what's going on, but we promise to explain this to you once you've had a chance to stretch your legs!"
Whether you go downstairs immediately or linger a little longer, eventually you must come down and get out of the small space, and sooner rather than later would probably be better. You'll find yourself in a well-lit lobby, filled with comfortable-looking couches and chairs. Along one wall are refreshment tables, loaded with all sorts of warming, comforting food and drink, including some you probably aren't familiar with. On the wall opposite are a pair of desks, each with a sign and a person seated behind them -
Irene, General Assistance
Devin, Technological Assistance
Unlike a few waves before, the only people in charge seem to be the people behind the desks. They look a bit busy.
However, before you can go over and give them a piece of your mind and ask questions, the same person who ushered you downstairs hands you a manilla envelope that contains your welcome packet, urging you to read this before asking the two figures questions that the packet likely answers.
Inside it, you will find: a ring with a key and apartment number on it, some kind of cash card, a map and informational guide to the city, and a letter folded neatly on the top -
Outside, and through the translucent glass you can see a banner hanging from the tiled roof of the building across the street. It's looking oddly bright and cheery against a darkening sky:

Welcome to Saeng Seong!
You are among a new group of arrivals to our city, from many far-apart worlds.
We have gathered you here because our city is in a crisis, and we are at our last resorts. The energy of the city is in a slow downward spiral, and is dangerously close to expiring altogether.
That's where you come in - you and everyone else we've brought to the city. Unlike those of us here, you have the potential to generate the energy the city needs, but you'll need to work together to do it.
Why? Because the energy can only be generated when two people touch each other. Any touch will do, but it must be between two of you who are new to the city. If you don't keep in contact with someone, eventually your energy will begin to drain as well, making you dangerously ill.
A few other things:
The closed-off sections of the city are closed off for a reason; approaching them will cause your energy to drain very rapidly. We're working to open the rest of the city to you as soon as we can, but for now, please remain within the first five districts of the city.
You have been given a key to a one-bedroom apartment in a complex set aside for you and the other new arrivals, near the riverside in the 1st district. You're free to change your living quarters whenever you like, and we encourage you to move in with someone in one of the larger apartments. When you want to change, just come back to this building to exchange your key.
We've also included a cash card with a living stipend; if you're unfamiliar with this system, or the network established for new arrivals, you can talk to Devin in the lobby for help. It's what he's here for. If you need medical assistance, contact Mai, one of our nurses.
Again, welcome, and thank you for all your help.

Outside, and through the translucent glass you can see a banner hanging from the tiled roof of the building across the street. It's looking oddly bright and cheery against a darkening sky:

She's glad to see him face-to-face now, but that's a strange question. Then again, maybe she shouldn't be surprised if they were both kidnapped to a place like this.
"Um... It was March 5th, last I remember - Graduation Day." She smiles, but it's a bit hesitant. "And I feel fine! I'm a little tired, but that's all."
A nap would be nice, but she can do without it. Right now, she's just getting more and more concerned for Junpei by the second.
no subject
Don't mind him as he takes your wrist and tries to check your pulse... let's see, how many beats was it per minute? Aw shit, why couldn't he remember stuff like this?!
"We... we should get you checked out at the hospital, just in case or something."
How was this even possible...? How could she be alive like this infront of him? But as memories of those days came back to him, he remembered that she always looked a bit pale, but he she looked normal again...
"I'm from March 30th... so's Fuuka... and'..."
He didn't know how to continue. How do you tell someone they 'died' to you?
no subject
"Wait, why? It's nothing that a little shut-eye won't solve... why are you so freaked out?"
This situation is quickly going from heartfelt to worrisome. It took quite a lot to make Junpei act so nervous, so she can't help but be a little unsure about everything.
"How does that even- no, never mind. I guess that's not important right now." She pauses. He looked like he was holding back in telling her something, and she wants to know.
"And...? Did something happen after I fell asleep?"
no subject
"It's... it's what didn't happen."
He was looking at her, but he couldn't find it in himself to look her in the eye.
"You... you didn't wake up. When we got up to the roof, it looked like you'd... you'd just fallen asleep, but you never woke back up, and by the next day, you..."
His voice caught in his throat, and he looked back down, shaking his head. He needed a moment before he could continue.
no subject
So the peace that she felt, the looming exhaustion, the vague memory of seeing white before she woke up here... those were her experiences that led up to her death. Something inside of her tells her that she should be horrified at this revelation, but she isn't. Instead, she finds herself worried about how her dear friends - Aigis, the other SEES members, and all of those people she had bonded with - had dealt with something so sudden. She didn't feel ill, so using all of her power to seal Nyx... that must have done it.
Maybe she should have seen this coming.
"So waking up here... I guess it saved me."
no subject
But Junpei couldn't hold himself back from giving the girl another hug, this time a little less desperate and clingy; more like his usual, even if his shoulders were still shaking.
"None of us... none of us knew for sure what was the cause, y'know? I mean, I guess maybe it was the fight, somehow, but I dunno for sure..."
She had been the only one able to face Nyx and seal it away, after all... maybe that came with the price of her life. Which only pissed Junpei off more; why couldn't they have all helped with that? Why did it need to be her?
Funny. He used to ask that question a lot in the past, but the meaning was far, far different from this time.
"It wasn't fair... it was like some messed up, horrible joke..."
no subject
And she reciprocates the hug in full, resting the side of her head against him as she thinks. She had gone in to fight Nyx knowing that she'd be making a sacrifice, and it looks like the future held up to that. She can't say she wasn't warned, though... Igor said that her Journey was over, and she got to say what were apparently her final goodbyes. She doesn't think she has any regrets.
"I'm sorry I had to put you guys through all of that."
no subject
It came out easily, as he leaned his cheek against her head. His eyes were still dripping tears, and he was starting to get ahold of his sense of where they were, but he could forgo the embarassment. Who cared; this was his best friend back from the dead, after all.
"So you don't gotta apologize... I-I'm just so damn glad I get to see you again!"
God, she was really here... -- Wait, here? Hadn't Akihiko-senpai and Shijiro-senpai mentioned...
"Uuuuh... weird question, but you don't remember being here in Saeng Seong before, do ya?"
Like this whole situation wasn't weird as hell already.
no subject
She simply nods when he speaks at first, but hums a bit at his question. "No, I don't think so. Should I?"
no subject
Pulling up his hand, Junpei started to count off.
"Akihiko-senpai, Shinjiro-senpai and you are all from the same date-- Graduation day. Me an' Fuuka are from March 30th. Mitsuru-senpai is January 31st, right before we fought the last battle, and Yuka-tan just showed up too; but she's from January 15th."
Looking back at Minako, he gave her a helpless shrug.
"And according to the other Persona users here, you've been here before; AND get this-- a dude version of you, named Minato Arisato! Two of em were here before too!"
He let out a sigh before shaking his head.
"This stuff is too heavy for me, man... But if people seem to know you, that's probably why."
no subject
"...was I at least a hot dude?"
Priorities. She has them.
no subject
But then, he chuckles, finally reaching up to rub his red eyes. She always had a way to set him at ease.
"Eh, who am I kidding; I'd ask the same thing. But I don't know, honestly. I've been here since October 18th-according to this worlds Calender- and I never saw him. People kinda come in and out, apparently; so it could've been you and you just don't remember, or it was another... 'you', I guess. Beats me how it actually all works here."
Pulling his hand away, he couldn't help smiling again at her. He was still sort of shaky, and he wasn't sure if he'd be sleeping much tonight with all these thoughts buzzing in his head, but that was a perfectly okay trade off to him.
"Uh... any other questions, Minako?"
...He still wanted to pinch himself, though.
no subject
"Yeah... tons, actually," she replies, smiling. "But I think they can wait for a little while. We should meet up with the others!"
no subject
Sorry, Junpei was not gonna let that drop.
"But yeah, we should check around-- see if anyone else came here. You wanna go together or split up--Oh, right!"
Junpei gestured towards her envelope.
"Which room are you in...?"
no subject
She says it half-jokingly, but does understand why Junpei wants her to get checked out. She doubts that they'll find anything, though.
When he gestures to her envelope, she opens it again. "Oh! I'm in... Building 1, Room 3-05."
no subject
Well that was pretty lucky, wasn't it?
"So I can show you where you're at, no problem! Heheh-- Oh, right!"
Junpei paused a second, thinking it over.
"They don't bring of your clothing here, so a lot of people end up needing to shop pretty soon after they arrive... Maybe you and Fuuka should go or something?"
no subject
She smiles brightly. She'd love to live in a dorm arrangement again, but this will work just fine as well.
"Sounds like a plan to me." she replies, nodding. "Maybe I could get Mitsuru-senpai to come along, too! Y'know, make a day out of it."
no subject
He had been thinking of moving closer to Fuuka, at least...
Junpei gave Minako a thumbs up, grinning.
"Sounds like a great idea! I'm sure she'd go along with it."
