SCENE: Y'AKENO'S apartment.

Y'AKENO introduced AQUA to her friend ALLU, another adventurer from her own world. wine's been poured and thank the lord. the ladies are all getting to know each other and exchanging stories of their world, their lives, their jobs...

AQUA:

(holding her glass of wine to her lips to hide her mischievous smile)

So we never let Ven do the laundry again. We still have no idea how he managed to turn everything brown.

(she shakes her head, still smiling, then takes a large swig and sets down her glass, shrugging.)

Life with two boys, I guess.

[ Yakie laughs, trying to picture it. How in the realms does one do that without accidentally dropping brown pigment in...? ]

Did he mistake brrrown pigments for soap? I know back when it was Loohn's turrrn to wash her sisters' laundry, she accidentally mistook our blood brrrother's brue pigment for the soap. My motherrr swore if we dyed our clothes in the wash again she'd string us up with the smallclothes until the next Umbral Era.

[ It's all said amidst a laughing fit. ]

[ meanwhile, allu just snickers, nursing her glass. ]

By the Twelve, how would you mistake them?

All our troubles came from village boys, convinced seawater was the best for washing... to lose many a tunic to piranhas.

[humility]

[Aqua is laughing more openly and loudly than she would with a lot less alcohol in her system, leaning back slightly into the couch.]

I'm imagining a group of boys in nothing but their underwear, watching their clothes getting dragged off...!

[and she's momentarily lost to a laughing fit.]

Didn't you get up to any trouble yourself, Allu?

[ There's a bit of a spittake at the mental image conjured up by the sudden mention of losing tunics to piranhas, and a muttering of "'least it ain't a kedtrap. Damned buggers." ]

And wasn't there a natural spring near there anyway? How lazy could ye ged?

Myself, trouble? Perish the thought, I was a stellar child.

[ TIPS HER HEAD UP and puffs her head out--which kind of makes her wobble on her seat. ]

Even I got into heaps of trouble sometimes. You're just holding out on us.

[oh. why is it hard to sit up straight after the nudging. hm.]

[she takes a sip before leaning forward in her seat. ]

Trrrouble like what we get up ta with our frrriends don't just start at signing up at the 'venturer's guild.

[ wow, pouts at yakie ]

I may have gotten into a fistfight here or there but that's neither here nor there! Quite expected, I'd say!

Well, what'd they do? [ that is always half as amusing as the actual brawls! ]

[Aqua sits back, grinning expectantly, and holding her glass again]

Oh, this is going to be a good story. Go on!

Damn bandits were bandits. You've been to the Cove, haven't you, Yakie?

[ she rocks side to side as she recounts the story. ]

Might've been a few drunkards that were knocked flat on their arses by little me, half a ponze in weight.

and then they try to take aqua back to her apartment...

[It's nearly two in the morning, according to the clock on Terra's nightstand. He almost brushes the knocking off as a dream, except that it keeps persisting.

'Who would come over at this hour?' He knew Aqua well enough to know that she would just let herself in with her Keyblade, and with both Riku and Sora having gone home, he couldn't think of many others that would come over this late.

The knocking continues, ruining his chances of going back to sleep. With a sigh of irritation, he rolls out of bed and makes for the door. It doesn't occur to him to grab a shirt until his hand is on the doorknob, but whoever it is, it can't be important enough to hunt down something in the dark.

He winces when the light from the hallway hits his eyes, and then he blinks as his mind tries to register the sight of Aqua, Y'akeno, and Allu.

... is... he sure that he isn't dreaming? But then, why would his dreaming mind come up with something like this?] Ah... hi.

[This is a little awkward...]

[ allu--who is held up by both aqua and yakie, tilts her head at terra as the awkward silence continues. she tilts her head to the left, and then to the side, almost like her head is a metronome.

aw, isn't she cute?

after a long while, she blurts out: ]

Where's his tail?

[humility]

Tail?

[Aqua's been blinking a lot, as if the light hurts her...but also slowly, as if bewildered by everything going on.

another slow blink as not only what Allu said processes, but the fact that Allu is there at all, and that Aqua is half of the suspension holding the tiny girl up.]

Tail?

[her voice isn't...slurred so much as also slow. but then without warning, her face splits into an almost demonic grin.]

He's not an animal. He's a tree. A big oak. You should be asking where his leaves are!

[and then she's lost to a storm of giggles, jiggling Allu as she grabs her chest and clutches it...]

[ Blink once. Blink twice. Pardon her suddenly as she laughs hard, because yeah she has definitely seen abs like that on her brothers, but leaves?

She points at his hair with her free hand. ]

But they're rrri' there? [ Laughing again. ] Such a silly willow.

[ No longer pointing again, she grins at Terra. ] Ey Terrra, she 'ad a bit much. Do ye think yeh can watch 'errr?

[ she brought the wine. ]

Nice abs by the way.

[aheroipray]

[ quiet 'mmm, mmm!' ]

Yes, you've only the chance to see that on a Miqo'te! That's what I meant!

I'm sure Aqua could climb him like a tree, of course!

[Aqua whips over to Y'akeno, her eyes wide (but still slightly unfocused).]

The first time I saw those, I couldn't stop touching them! It was weird! He was this scrawny kid, and then...

[with her free hand NOT holding up Allu, Aqua gestures at those fabulous abs, clearly at a loss for how to describe them. and then, just to further demonstrate to her companions, she pokes them to display their solidness while still staring, wide-eyed, at the others as if to say, "see?!"]

And I will not climb him. [indignant huff.] I'm just as tall as he is. [and then a pouty mutter of "willow, hmph"]

[Light above, It's a miracle he was able to follow the conversation with his mind still in it's half-awake state. However, the longer they go back and forth with each other, the more 'awake' he becomes. By the time the compliment (and the surprise discussion about said compliment) goes around, he's just awake enough to know he should be somewhere between 'flattered' and 'embarrassed'.

He'll settle for bringing a hand to his face. However, it can't hide the blush that's forming on his cheeks.] You can all come in; I doubt she's the only one that needs looking after.

[Stepping aside to let the girls in, but... he's still just asleep enough that he can deliver a little bit of a rebuttal.] No, you're not - I can't count how many times you climbed over me to get to the top shelves in the Master's library.

[He refuses to read how 'else' that climbing comment can be taken. No. Will not go there. Will not - especially with Aqua talking about the first time she had noticed he wasn't a scrawny kid anymore.]

Eh, we 'ave expurrience in 'em, but fine.

[ oh gods she's positively purring, but she gives zero fucks about it. so long as the view is not hindered, she is ok with this eye candy. turning to the side a bit, she starts the drunken train through the doorway - somehow not bumping into Terra. it's a miracle. ]

[ allu, meanwhile, is stumbling over herself. much featherfoot, such agility, wow. ]

I've not needed any taking care of!

[ promptly yanks her hands out of yakie and aqua's hands.

and falls flat on her face. ]

Allu!

[Aqua may be happily drunk, but that doesn't mean a complete 180. there's a momentary regain of soberness as she dives to help Allu...until her legs wobble and ultimately give out, leaving her kneeling on the floor looking surprised with one hand on Allu's back, put there in concern but now forgotten.]

--Oh.

[first, there's a snort. then a giggle. then Aqua is practically doubled over laughing. falling over is funny. being drunk is HILARIOUS.

through her tears of laughter, Aqua leans over:]

Allu, are you alright?

Aa-

[ The miqo'te jumps a bit, hands going over her mouth. ] Gods be good, Allu...!

[ Whoa dizzy - why are there two of each of them? ...At least two of 'em are laughing. ]
