A night out! [OPEN]
Who: Pilouette and You!
Where: District 5 and later, the Guest Apartments.
When: Evening of October 9th and into the night
Summary: Pilouette decides to break from her usual schedule and have a night out. It doesn't go as smoothly as she would hope.
Warnings: None as of posting. Maybe some awkwardness?
Though she's been living on her own in Saeng Seong for over a year, Pilouette has been sticking more or less to the same general schedule she had back home: Get up early, do whatever she was doing during the day — usually work in this case, rather than school — then come home and be in bed by 10.
However, since turning seventeen the month before, she had been thinking about something. Why was she still following that schedule? After all, she's been living without any kind of actual adult supervision for a while. Really, she could do whatever she wanted. Plus, she's a year older, even closer to being an adult than she was before! Plus, seeing as was given the next day off...Pilouette decides to have a night out. Even with the warning the previous week, she figures she'll be fine. After all, Ren said those people were headed towards a closed district. As long as she doesn't spend too much time near those she'll be fine. Probably.
After work she dresses up, just a little bit, to make herself feel a little more grown up before heading out to District 5. She's still a little nervous and she might not notice if something, like her cellphone or wallet, fell out of her purse on the way.
Before long, she gets to the theater having decided to see a movie. However, she's having trouble deciding what to see. She's pretty bad with scary movies, but...well, since she's older now, maybe she can handle it. After all, it's just a movie. However, she could also see one of any number of other movies that won't scare her to death.
After it's all over, Pilouette walks back to District 2 and up to her own apartment, 3-03 in Building 2. She stands there for a moment, rummaging through her purse for a moment, looking for her key. When she doesn't find it she begins to backtrack to look for it. It's not until she's been searching the first floor for a while when it hits her. It's on her table. Inside her apartment. She's locked herself out. Great.
After a few moments of being generally annoyed and upset at herself, she thinks about what her options are. She doesn't want to bother anyone at such a late hour and she can't just mill about all night. So, Pilouette makes her way back up to the third floor and, settling down on a couch in the third floor's lounge area, buys some coffee from a vending machine. She comes to find that she doesn't actually like coffee very much. At all. It's so bitter and gross. However she wants to try and stay awake so she can see about possibly getting another key or something to get back into her apartment bright and early. However, it doesn't work out very well and she ends up falling asleep.
...It's probably not the best place for it.

"Actually...I was thinking of watching something scary! I don't usually watch scary movies, but...back home this definitely would have been the month to do it!" She grins as she looks back to him. She's not really good with horror movies and she's a bit nervous, but if she sees one with a friend, it should be okay, right?
She looks over the various titles one more time before pointing to the one she thinks sounds the scariest. "Um, w-what about that one? 'Murder Mansion 2: The ReMurdering!'"
no subject
Looking at the title Pilouette pointed out though, he's suddenly a little less sure. He twiddles his fingers nervously. "Are you sure that isn't too scary? What about- what about-" He searches through the titles. "Um, 'The Thing That Came From The Place Beyond Space'?"
Sorry, Pilouette, even when 'rebelling', Blades is still kind of a weenie.
no subject
"Mmm...Maybe you're right. B-besides, it wouldn't be much fun to watch the really scary stuff right away, right?" Yeah, that sounded sufficiently cool. She's sure of it. "'The Thing That Came From The Place Beyond Space,' though...that sounds like it would be pretty good!"
no subject
He nods at Pilouette understandingly. "If it's too scary you just end up missing half the movie anyway because you're covering your face!" 100% universal reaction and not specific to weenies. "I like spooky monsters better than killer humans anyway."
no subject
How many nights had she spent making quadruple sure that all the doors and windows were locked, just in case? After all, no way was a zombie going to get her, but a guy with a creepy mask and a machete? That stuff could totally happen. Pushing that thought aside for the moment, she grins.
"But, um, I'm getting kind of excited. I mean, the movie we're seeing isn't too scary...probably. I bet it's going to be like, totally great!"
no subject
"Yeah, this is going to be fun! Just two friends watching a movie together!" Nothing can go wrong with that!
Of course, Blades is also scared of cumulus clouds and zombie hamsters. There's a good chance this is going to go terribly wrong.
no subject
"It's been like, forever since I've watched a movie at all...!" Pilouette exclaims excitedly. She begins making her way to the box office, smiling. "The tickets are on me tonight, okay?"
As silly as it is, paying for both of them makes her feel sort of cool and grown up. She's got this.
no subject
Blades cheerfully trails after Pilouette like a very large, metallic duckling. "Really? That's so nice of you! Should I, um, buy you snacks?"
Humans love snacks during movies! Television and Cody taught him so.
no subject
"A-Are you sure? I mean, theater snacks are always so expensive...!"
no subject
He beams at her. "Plus, since you're buying my ticket it only seems polite to get you something."
no subject
Were she buying the snacks herself, she would end up stuffing herself silly, but...if someone else is buying them, she figures she should go easy on the food for once. She take a moment to think about it as she purchases the tickets.
"Maybe just some popcorn, if that's okay...!"
no subject
Popcorn and a drink are the traditional movie snacks, right? And sometimes hot dogs or nachos! And candy. Sometimes Blades wishes he could eat like a human. They sure seem to have a lot of fun with different foods!
no subject
Too many times she's run to the bathroom during a movie only to come back and find she no longer has any idea what's going on. It never failed. Someone new was introduced or some incredibly important plot twist was revealed which meant she had to watch the movie again later so she could find out what she missed and when it comes to scary movies...well.
"Besides, movie drinks are always way too big. No way could I even finish it!"
no subject
"Just popcorn it is!" He proceeds to order the largest size of popcorn there is, because just because she couldn't finish an oversized movie drink doesn't mean Pilouette couldn't finish oversized movie food, right?
no subject
"Gee, like, thanks!" she says before beginning to head to the screening room. "This is going to be like, so good. I'm totally glad we ran into each other here...!"
no subject
His voice drops to a stage whisper. "But don't tell her I said that!"
It would hurt her birdy feelings.
Entering the room, he eyes the rather human-sized seats filling it. Maybe he can squeeze into one? And not crush it? There are moments he wishes he could be a human, just for a little bit. And then he remembers things like sneezing. Gross!

As she looks about for a place to sit, the same thing occurs to her. She briefly glances at Blades – he is a little bigger than the average moviegoer, what with being a big metal space robot and all. She frowns thoughtfully for a moment as she ponders the problem.
"M-Maybe we should stand behind the back row or something. I mean like, the further back you are, the more of the screen you can see, right?"
no subject
"How about you sit in the back row, and I can kneel on the floor behind the back row?"
no subject
It's not like it's a bad idea, though and...well, she's never sure of the quality of her own suggestions, anyway.
"But if you think it's a good idea..."

"Let's get this movie started!"
no subject
She leans forward a bit, already starting to tense up. It's barely started but she's already starting to anticipate getting scared.
no subject
Lightning flashes, lighting up a large concrete facility of some sort, helpfully labelled SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTE.
Inside the building a group of people in lab coats stand in front of large circular portal device of some sort - because portal devices are always large and circular - while one of them makes a speech.
"Today, we make the greatest achievement since man first walked in space. Today we make the first steps into... the place beyond space!"
Blades gasps.
no subject
"To think, people said it couldn't be done! Surely the things we discover will change science as we know it!!"
Pilouette begins munching on the popcorn, her eyes widening a little. A partial title drop so early into the movie! Things are getting serious already! She leans forward just a bit more as the drama rises. It's been a while since she's watched a movie so she's getting really into it.
