Operation Reignition
Who: Anyone who wants to participate in the event!
Where: Assorted places in and around District 3!
When: Sunday afternoon (the 30th)
Summary: POWER IT UP AND GO SHOPPING.
Warnings: None.
By late morning, it's obvious that there's something going on down by the bridges to District 3. Even if you missed the announcement on the network, it's pretty obvious that something is going to happen; townspeople mill about with interest as people set up tables. Irene and Mai are roaming the area, Mai mostly sticking to the medical teams standing by while Irene organizes the rest of the group. Keener eyes might spy one of the brothers responsible for the network, slipping off into the Third District through gates that stand open, but still guarded against any visitors who might attempt to approach before things are ready to go.
Off to one side, there's a shaded area, tents and a few chairs where visitors can wait to be allowed entry. There's a table full of water bottles and light snacks tucked up against the wall, to fortify you against the heat of the afternoon - and it is warm, and only going to get warmer. The natives seem to have accepted the baking sun as the normal way of things, but be careful that you don't get heatstroke.
At about half an hour past noon, someone brings out a little podium and sets it in front of the gate. Irene climbs up on it, holding a microphone in front of her mouth - her voice echoes from a number of speakers set up through the area.
"Alright, could I have my first group of volunteers over here, please? We've got your instructions ready for you to enter the district."
Looks like it's showtime. Are you ready?
((ooh; Event start! OOC information can be found here and here.))

Re: MINGLE
[So you'll find him off to the side, looking at all the passers by.]

[Diarmuid is a little sad he's not going to get to go with one of the big groups, but he doesn't stay sad long. Even if he's not sure he's brave enough to go by himself as others seem to be talking about doing, his friend is going and that is almost as good.]
I should have brought my sword for you to use...though maybe you will just hurt yourself with it.
[He sticks his tongue out at the other boy as he teases him, remembering how he had hit himself the first day they had arrived.]
no subject
[He makes a face back at Diarmuid.]
That was just once! You've shown me how to use a sword properly now.
no subject
[He giggles, putting his hand up by his head to show how short he is.]
Make sure you have someone pick you up and carry you. That way you can see more! Adults are so much taller than we are.
[Diarmuid giggles again and rocks back and forth on his feet.]
I taught you some and you still managed to throw the sword! You are lucky it didn't hit anyone!
no subject
[He starts jumping and waving.]
Hey! Hey!
no subject
[The boy laughs and grabs for his friend's hand.]
They are busy trying to help others. I will be okay on my own! I'm going to be a knight when I grow up and knights face challenges all the time. I will find a way to see things all by myself. It will be like a test!
no subject
Then I won't need to go with any adults either. I'll do everything by myself and then come back and find you. So we can be knights together.
no subject
Now you promised you would help that group! Knights don't break promises. You have to go with them, but we can explore more when you get back. I will go to a different area than you and we both will have lots to tell each other. What did my father call it... Scouting! We both are going on scouting missions! That way we can plan for when we go back!
no subject
I didn't know scouting missions went like this before!
no subject
[Diarmuid seems to fall into thought for a moment and then his expression brightens.]
Lets make it a competition! Whoever comes back with the best story about the area they explore wins!

I will just have to find something cooler than a generator! Maybe I will find a mystery generator that everyone forgot about. And I will fix it all by myself!
no subject
If you can, then I'll find you a hero's portion next time we have dinner.

mingle you say?
Don't tell me you're crazy enough to be here.
[Too. Shush. Don't ask. ]
but of course
Are you also here to help, Sir Deadlock?
no subject
[Whoops he almost used some pretty salty language. Admire that self control he has.]
I'm, uh, here.
[Don't remind him.]
no subject
no subject
[That was sarcasm, by the way.]
[Hey! Was that some kind of dig against mean robots?]
no subject
[A pause.]
Hey, Sir Deadlock, are you sick from not touching people?
no subject
[Not in Deadlock land. It is a no touching zone.]
Of course I'm not.
[Of course he's lying. He's a little wobbly, but it just adds to his sweet temper. ]
hug incoming!
noooooooooooo!!!!
The frag is wrong with you!?
make sure to check for fleas
Well, we're Decepticons, so we have to help each other! And now even if you aren't sick, you'll take longer to get sick!
robo fleas?
[More flustered than outraged, though.]
Right. Whatever.
[Then it hits him. ]
...you doing okay?
scraplets
What about you, Sir Deadlock? Do you have Decepticon friends to hug?
