Who: Everyone who has enough proofs! Where: District 4 When: September 20th to October 4th Summary: There is a new district reopening, and the city needs your help to get it up and running! Warnings: Inbox death may occur. System overload at own risk. SOME NPC RESPONSES WILL BE SLOW UNTIL THE ONE WHO PLAYS THEM IS PRESENT.
Also, remember that you can still submit proofs at any time here between now and October 4th to have your character be allowed in the new district before it's open to the public!
Additionally, you are all free to start your own logs set in District 4 outside of this one, HOWEVER if you want your characters to explore in territory that hasn't been looked at yet, we ask you to please use this log!
A different side of the city.
Anyone hanging around the wall that blocks off the forth district will be in for a surprise on Friday - new signs are being put up, barricades are being torn down, and NPCs are standing around, both directing all the work and talking to anyone who approaches to enter.
A few doctors are on standby as well. Any of the visitors who try to walk in will be redirected to these doctors, who will scan them, take a few measurements on some portable computers they've brought out, and then tell them their results - those who reach measurements that are high enough will be allowed to enter, and those who aren't will be turned away and asked to return when the district is more stable to avoid any health risks associated with the drain effect. They will then suggest to any characters turned away to try participating in more physical contact if they want to enter sooner rather than later.
Those who are allowed to enter will immediately be greeted by a place very different from the rest of the city. The area is wide and open, with a path that's only loosely based on the locations of the few buildings around. Though much of it seems to be struggling to grow, particularly as the winter months begin to inch closer, there is nature and life all around - trees, large clearings that are or once were filled with grass, and most notably areas that seem designated for recreational activities, like swing sets and basketball courts. A perfect place to relax and have fun.
Welcome to the parks and recreation district.

M'gann is standing nearby, with her normal, Earth-girl feet actually in the water so she can feel the sand underfoot, and how cool the pond is on her skin. She has a collection of rocks in one hand, throwing them in a way that she THINKS is close to how you're supposed to skip rocks...And then just giving them a little telekinetic help across the water so they hop a few times before sinking.

"Nice shot."
It was from behind her but the boy was friendly enough not to cause any panic.
no subject
"Thanks! It's actually my first time trying this; skipping stones, I mean."
no subject
Flattery gets someone everywhere depending on what it is. Or is it a genuine comment?
no subject
Never mind that she's cheating the entire way; fine control with her telekinesis has to count for something, right? "What about you? Do you ever do stuff like this at ponds?" She gestures to the water as her feet start drying on the grass.
no subject
"No, I usually fish though."
If that one time involving catching the comb counted.
no subject
"That's neat! I've never really tried fishing before...I've only seen it a couple of times, too. What's it like?" Somehow, the idea that it involves a lot of waiting doesn't really enter into her mind.
no subject
"Well, it takes awhile to do because most of it is waiting for a fish to come up. It took me awhile before the one I wanted decided to show up."
no subject
...Don't finish that thought, M'gann. You're supposed to be a normal girl, and normal girls don't usually do stake outs. She gives a nervous laugh-cough before continuing.
"Thawing steak! Lots of waiting before you can move on and do something good!" She at least knows that much, from the few times she's made dinners like that. Which prompts another question for M'gann.
"What do you do with the fish when you're done? Cook them for dinner, or put them up on walls, or let them go?"
no subject
"Well, it depends on who's doing the fishing. Myself, I just catch them and let them go. The only reason was because I needed to get something from a particular fish. Other than that, I didn't have a need to keep them."
no subject
[The other thing though, she hasn't heard of outside of some very fanciful (even for a superhero!) stories. Which is why she's now staring at him with wide, curious eyes.]
"Like...Like you were on a quest, or similar?"
[She's THIS CLOSE to asking if the fish talked, or if it gave him a magic ring or similar. He's...Certainly not the cutting image of a mythic hero, but it's always possible he's just in a change of clothes.]
no subject
A personal quest you can say. I wanted to get it back because it meant so much to her.
no subject
[It's hard not to keep asking questions, with the picture her mind is painting and the wild directions it keeps going on as she listens. M'gann tilts her head as she speculates, some of those words slipping out.]
"Someone important to you, maybe? Like a girlfriend, or a-?"
[That's about when she realizes that she's being more than a little rude, and possibly intrusive. M'gann shakes her head, snapping her thoughts out of that tangent.]
"S-sorry, sorry. That's rude of me to ask."
no subject
No, it's ok. She was an older woman whom I met during the summer. She lost a comb her late husband gave her years ago and it got stuck in a fish's scales. So I caught it in order to get it back to her.
