And back again [open]
Who: Steve Rogers and anyone
Where: Tony's room and around the city
When: February 23rd
Summary: Steve comes back after staying in his world for about 70 years. Cue making sure that Tony is okay and reorienting himself with Saeng Seong.
Warnings: Steve being a grumpy old man.
[Locked to Tony]
Steve wasn't very happy, to say the least. He thought that he would be getting a little time to himself after the battle in New York, time to maybe adjust to the new era or at least see how much had changed since his frozen slumber in the ice. But no, he woke up in another unfamiliar place without any warning. Of course the unfamiliar place became familiar once his memories came rushing back. Saeng Seong, right. He was... small when he was last here. It seemed so long ago. Steve briefly wondered if any of his friends were still here, how much time had passed in this place.
Oh, and Tony. He was here before. So was Loki- and okay, he needed to see if his teammate was alright and if Loki had done anything since his disappearance. Exploring the city would need to come after.
With that task in mind, Steve headed to Tony's apartment and knocked on his door, trying to remain calm despite the frustration he was feeling. He was getting sick of being transported to places without knowing how much time had passed.

After being reassured that Loki hadn't done anything destructive yet and getting an explanation on how much time had passed, Steve decided that it would be a good time to walk around Saeng Seong again. Although, barely any time had passed since he was gone, almost the opposite of how it was on Earth.
Figures. A small part of him wished that only three days passed when he took the plane down.
Still, he had to do this. It wasn't like he remembered every single detail of this city... and he just really needed the fresh air. So Steve could be found around the districts, stopping every so often at different shops with a look of surprise. Surprise that it remained unchanged even though he knew it had only been a short amount of time. Or Steve could be seen walking down the street and turning his head at everything in almost a daze.

Afterward, Steve was just sitting down on a bench in the park, staring down at his folded hands and looking a bit distracted. He needed a little time to take this all in still. Maybe he was overreacting, but just seeing the city almost unchanged... it was just a bit mind-boggling to him.
"Just three days..." Steve mumbled to himself, although his voice was clear enough to be heard. He also was a little angry about everything, but he tried to keep things to himself as he sat there on the bench.

But he let out a quiet sigh as he set his menu down on the table again. He tapped his finger on the surface, taking a moment before deciding to talk about what was on his mind.
"I guess if I'm going to be honest, though, there has been something bothering me, aside from you disappearing. Yu told me someone we met here a while ago who left came back, and... she doesn't remember us."
no subject
"No memories of this place at all?" That was a little disturbing to hear, especially since he only got back his memories of Saeng Seong just a few hours ago. Would something like that happen to him? Just forget people he once knew? "Same exact girl too?"

Shinju sat back, his eyes on the table. It was clear that it bothered him, but who wouldn't be upset at a friend forgetting you?
"I haven't talked with her yet, but... that's what Yu told me. She said she doesn't remember anything here."
no subject
"She a friend of yours too?" Steve just assumed so, since he looked rather upset by all this. And who wouldn't be? Being forgotten by a friend wasn't easy, not that Steve had been through something like that before. He didn't really want to either, but it was something that could easily happen.

It wasn't that he doubted Minako would want to be friends again, if she was truly the same person. But for Shinju, even with Soushi, who directly asked him in a letter to reintroduce himself should another appear, he wasn't sure he'd do it. He didn't know if he wanted to deal with talking with a previous close friend who remembered nothing about him.
"I'll... have to think about it." Yu or Minako's friends from home would probably end up reintroducing them to each other anyway. It would probably be less painful than approaching her himself.

He wasn't sure if not remembering anything would be worse for him or not, but it would definitely hurt Shinju. On that alone, Steve was glad to have remembered him.

Shinju took a moment to think. "I guess if that were the case, she probably would have already known me when we first met... Unless..."
He stopped, shaking his head and looking defeated. "It's too much to think about right now. It's hard enough to understand this place without all of that..."
no subject
"Not much use guessing about it. Just need to focus on what's happening now." Maybe something will pop up eventually, information that's revealed for them. But until then, all they could do was guess about it. Or maybe ask the scientists.

He looked out the window a moment, wondering what would be the best thing to say to Steve. He knew it would take some time for his friend to deal with being back here, but...
"I'm still going to come by and check on you now and then, okay?" Just like he'd been doing. Even if Steve had changed, he'd do his best to make sure their friendship wouldn't.

But Steve snapped out of his thoughts when Shinju began speaking again. "I... thank you." It was nice to know that he still wanted to check up on him and Steve figured that protesting the offer wouldn't do much good. "I'd like that."
