Operation Reignition
Who: Anyone who wants to participate in the event!
Where: Assorted places in and around District 3!
When: Sunday afternoon (the 30th)
Summary: POWER IT UP AND GO SHOPPING.
Warnings: None.
By late morning, it's obvious that there's something going on down by the bridges to District 3. Even if you missed the announcement on the network, it's pretty obvious that something is going to happen; townspeople mill about with interest as people set up tables. Irene and Mai are roaming the area, Mai mostly sticking to the medical teams standing by while Irene organizes the rest of the group. Keener eyes might spy one of the brothers responsible for the network, slipping off into the Third District through gates that stand open, but still guarded against any visitors who might attempt to approach before things are ready to go.
Off to one side, there's a shaded area, tents and a few chairs where visitors can wait to be allowed entry. There's a table full of water bottles and light snacks tucked up against the wall, to fortify you against the heat of the afternoon - and it is warm, and only going to get warmer. The natives seem to have accepted the baking sun as the normal way of things, but be careful that you don't get heatstroke.
At about half an hour past noon, someone brings out a little podium and sets it in front of the gate. Irene climbs up on it, holding a microphone in front of her mouth - her voice echoes from a number of speakers set up through the area.
"Alright, could I have my first group of volunteers over here, please? We've got your instructions ready for you to enter the district."
Looks like it's showtime. Are you ready?
((ooh; Event start! OOC information can be found here and here.))

Someone had to break the ice on that little detail. Might as well be Yuna.

She sighs, shaking her head.

"Glad someone has some fraggin' sense."
no subject
Yuna grits her teeth, shaking her head.
"If this place is anything like that..."

You realize you've given Deadlock nightmare-fuel for weeks, right?
He gives a string of very bad words that hopefully she doesn't understand. "And Wing's right in the middle of it."
no subject
Yeah, maybe she's said a little too much. It's something she's deeply suspicious about, but maybe this isn't the sort of thing she should be saying to everyone. If she turns out to be wrong, all she's accomplishing is causing needless worry.

"Thing is we won't know until it's probably too late." Ray of sunshine, he is.

At Yuna's question, he asked, "Why would it?" He wasn't all that versed in the idea of metaphysics, despite being permanently undead and alive at the same time and possessing of some seriously nice ghostly powers. To him, the idea of lending life energy was just like handing out a favor of some sort — if it didn't outright kill anyone, what would be the harm?

Yuna whirls around to answer Sissel, although she's distracted a bit by the kitty ears on top of his head, her eyes flitting up to look at them every few seconds or so.
no subject
"Why wouldn't we? We're all full of life, aren't we?"
no subject
She's serious about this, but those ears are awfully cute.
no subject
"Maybe that's why we've been split into bigger groups, so that we can all make sure none of us gives too much at once. Division of labor... isn't that right?"
no subject
Yuna can't help but smile at how cute Sissel looks being all contemplative with that youthful face of his. Almost like Negi-sensei when he was being serious.

"Based on touch, it could totally be kinetic energy, friction, even static electricity."
no subject
"I guess so, but I don't think it'll be that easy. I mean, what keeps this thing running after we charge it up, anyway?"
no subject

It's possible that the generator is just going to slowly drain people dry, and then they'll be replaced by subsequent waves of new people. That's essentially at the core of what Yuna's afraid of here.
no subject
"Why would they tell us it was a quick trip if they didn't have some plan to get generators up and running? What's the evil plan? They keep making us go back and forth?"
no subject
There's always a catch.

Assuming they're not complete morons, which I am not convinced of as of yet."
He's optimistic as always, but doesn't seem concerned.
no subject
Unfortunately.
no subject
He doesn't have a lot of confidence in ... well, anyone other than himself.
"If you're feeling especially ill, you could retreat. But that would leave the rest of us with a heavier energy burden to bear, and increase the likelihood of serious consequences."
