Operation Reignition
Who: Anyone who wants to participate in the event!
Where: Assorted places in and around District 3!
When: Sunday afternoon (the 30th)
Summary: POWER IT UP AND GO SHOPPING.
Warnings: None.
By late morning, it's obvious that there's something going on down by the bridges to District 3. Even if you missed the announcement on the network, it's pretty obvious that something is going to happen; townspeople mill about with interest as people set up tables. Irene and Mai are roaming the area, Mai mostly sticking to the medical teams standing by while Irene organizes the rest of the group. Keener eyes might spy one of the brothers responsible for the network, slipping off into the Third District through gates that stand open, but still guarded against any visitors who might attempt to approach before things are ready to go.
Off to one side, there's a shaded area, tents and a few chairs where visitors can wait to be allowed entry. There's a table full of water bottles and light snacks tucked up against the wall, to fortify you against the heat of the afternoon - and it is warm, and only going to get warmer. The natives seem to have accepted the baking sun as the normal way of things, but be careful that you don't get heatstroke.
At about half an hour past noon, someone brings out a little podium and sets it in front of the gate. Irene climbs up on it, holding a microphone in front of her mouth - her voice echoes from a number of speakers set up through the area.
"Alright, could I have my first group of volunteers over here, please? We've got your instructions ready for you to enter the district."
Looks like it's showtime. Are you ready?
((ooh; Event start! OOC information can be found here and here.))

[But it doesn't hurt, and he doesn't sound like he really minds.]
I think this place is making me sick.
[Because this doesn't feel normal at all. Maybe he should have gone exploring with someone else. It's not like he's been the best about keeping up with physical contact, oh well.]

[But Kerry actually laughs at the kick instead of getting upset. When Assassin tries to pick him up, he's surprised, but the contact actually is helping him to feel better, and he doesn't resist.]
You're really strong, you know that? I bet you'd make a great mercenary.

[She hums the sound, if only because facing away from him makes her usual modes of non-verbal communication difficult, and glances back over her shoulder. He isn't the first person to say she's strong, but it's not something she has ever been aware of...]
[She manages to get the undersides of both his legs gripped with her hands, and then she moves to straighten, trying to support him against her back.]
—Hup!

[It's not like it's the first time he's ever been carried by a girl. Not that Natalia is exactly a girl, but...]
Haha, hey.
[When she straightens, he hangs on. He doesn't resist being carried. It doesn't seem like she's having any trouble holding him up, though he has no idea how she's that strong. He brightens further.]
This is kinda fun. Let's go!

[She nods, humming her assent as though answering an order. When she starts to walk, her pace is unhurried, perhaps out of concern for his ability to hold on and remain upright. She continues to scan their surroundings as she moves, her head turning this way and that.]

This touch stuff does work. I mean, I already knew it did, but I can feel it now.
[He surveys the world from his new perspective, riding on her back.]
Do you think maybe we could get into one of those warehouses?
[He points towards one of the buildings that are still in use.]
Maybe not. I couldn't figure it out, but if there's two of us...

[She looks in the direction that he points, eyes narrowing slightly as she studies it. She isn't sure if she'll be able to get inside like she did the mall, but it's worth looking, at least. She takes a couple of steps in the direction of the indicated building, then stops and looks back at him as best she can, to verify that's the one he wants to try.]
