Flashy meets Slashy, Part 2!
Who: Tony Stark & Bucky Barnes. Later: YOU!
Where: First and second districts, possibly elsewhere
When: September 6th
Summary: A rematch for the ages, thanks to a little bit of malfunctioning dangerous tech. Later: Bucky roams around so people can point and laugh.
Warnings: Violence. Murderous intent. General Winter Soldier things.
[The former assassin thought he was beginning to improve himself, that maybe he could reclaim some part of his life that wasn't HYDRA and begin to move forward in earnest. He's been making progress towards that end and towards keeping the memories he's managed to get a hold of. He felt like he had purpose--that he was ready for whatever came his way.
It isn't that he clung to Steve so much that a day away makes him nervous. It's the thought that he might not return, that he might not remember, that brings him the most unease.
But instead of focusing on the things he can't change, he decides to focus on something he can do. Said something is currently taking a good look at the closed southern districts from atop a few roofs in the first and second districts. He remembers the warning given to them--that entering the places will drain their energy rapidly--but he wonders if maybe there's something hidden there, some reason for them to have kept these places closed when it's been pointed out that enough energy has been made to open them.
He doesn't really expect anyone to bother him, and he's fairly certain anyone he encounters will leave him be. It's not like he hasn't made peace (however shaky) with the one he had a violent encounter with the last time he was surveying things from a roof.]
[OPEN]
[To say Bucky is tired and in pain is a massive understatement. He's been tossed around and injured in more ways than he'd like to admit, and frankly, he doesn't intend to. He honestly could have nodded off in his room to speed up his recovery, but given that Stark is currently inhabiting the apartment, he thinks it's better to... go elsewhere, at least for the moment.
He decides to walk through the nearby districts, seeing what kind of collateral damage they left. A few dents and cracks in walls, a mark where he narrowly dodged getting blown up, bloodstains here and there--some his, some Stark's. He wonders if anyone saw them fighting, either the empty suit going berserk and attacking him or his attempts to hunt down the fleeing engineer. It would be nicer if no one did. He really doesn't feel like explaining anything.
At least he's in some less-tattered clothes now, even if he's only half bandaged up. He still looks like a mess, sadly, walking through the streets for no real reason except to get out of his shared apartment.]

Good things or bad things?
[After seeing the one flashback James had, Diarmuid is smart enough to know that the things his friend remembers won't always be good things.]
no subject
Some good. Others... I dunno.
[He hadn't been left disoriented by any of them, thankfully. But was remembering intense worry a bad thing, or an indication of something good? What would he call the satisfaction of lining up a shot and watching his target slump against a wall?]
no subject
[Diarmuid hopes so, anyway. Hopefully, James doesn't has too many memories as bad as the one he remembered in the alley.]
Oh! Here we are! Lets go in so you can rest and I can start the spaghetti!
[He opens the door to the apartment building and waves James inside.]
no subject
Thankfully, he does make it to the couch before his legs get too tired, gingerly leaning back after sitting in the same spot as the last time he was in the boy's apartment. He's not worried about the dogs or the pokemon that were present last time--they're too small to really do any damage to him anyway--and he's sorely tempted to close his eyes.
But Diarmuid plans to make something for him, and he doesn't want to fall asleep on him before that. He'll just try to enjoy sitting down for the time being.]
no subject
Diarmuid? Are you home?
[Kit could hear someone moving around inside, so she assumed he was. She opened the door and peeked in.]
I just wanted to see if you wanted to-
[And then she spotted another friend. One who didn't look too good at the moment.]
James?
no subject
Just rest while I make the spaghetti. I practiced so I can do it myself!
[He is just starting toward the kitchen when Kit calls out and comes inside.]
Hello, Kit! Lord James is visiting. I'm going to make him supper because he got hurt. Do you want to eat with us?
no subject
He wasn't aware the two kids knew each other, but it makes sense that they'd seek out others about their age.]
no subject
OK. Though if I'd known, I'd have brought something to share.
[Because you know, it's only polite.]
What happened?
[She's clearly referring to James' situation, but will be fine with either of her friends answering.]
no subject
It's okay! You are my guests. Let me take care of you!
[Diarmuid dashes into the kitchen and crawls up on a chair, before turning back to answer Kit's question.]
Lord James said it was a misunderstanding. A big one, right Lord James?
no subject
Yeah. We fought a while, but we figured it out eventually.
no subject
OK. But let me know if you need help with anything. I'm a pretty good cook too.
[Kit frowns slightly at the explanation, but nods, going over to sit beside James, resting a hand lightly on his metal on. Because hey, a little contact would only speed up the healing process around here, right.]
Sounds like what happened to us with Viragor and the Wood Forgers. We thought Viragor was the bad guy because he was big and scary-looking, but it turned out that the Wood Forgers had lied to us. They were really the ones hurting the forest and Viragor was just trying to protect it.

[He turns around on the counter and holds up his arm, showing them the bracelet on his wrist.]
I have this now! It makes me stronger!
[It's only a little, but for a little boy, a little is a lot!]
I don't understand why people have to lie about each other like that. Who cares if they look different?
[Diarmuid turns back around and starts pulling the things he needs out of the cabinet. In a surprisingly short amount of time, he has the spaghetti cooking and is starting to get the sauce ready.
Did he mention he had been practicing?]
no subject
HYDRA lied to me like that a long time. [His brow furrows slightly, almost like he still can't quite believe it.] I didn't know until recently. I think I fought a lot of people for them.
[He's... become aware enough that telling others how many people he's killed probably isn't the greatest idea. And in some ways, with Kit and Diarmuid, he doesn't want to admit it.]
no subject
Oohh... Is it magic?
[Maybe it was like Lion-O's Claw Gauntlet!
She sits back though as James speaks, telling them about the time someone- or apparently a group of someones- named HYDRA had lied to him.]
What's HYDRA?
[Whoever they were, though, Kit already didn't like them.]
no subject
It is magic! I just got it not too long ago. I will show it to you later when I am not cooking!
[The boy turns back to working on the spaghetti and sauce, but he keeps talking.]
Lord James, if you did bad stuff because they lied to you, it's not your fault! You didn't know any better. Now you just have to do your best to make up for it and make them pay for hurting you and all those others!
[Killing isn't such a big deal to Diarmuid. While any loss of life is sad, he realizes it is going to happen. In fact, as a knight, he knows he will likely have to kill people. He just has to make sure he is doing it for the right reasons.]
no subject
He turns his attention to Kit to explain the basics of the organization.]
HYDRA's a group a friend and I used to fight. I don't remember it, but they must have found me after I fell and made me forget I was against them.
no subject
She was quiet, though, through Diarmuid's comments and James' explanation of HYDRA, frowning a bit thoughtfully.]
I wonder if Mumm-Ra did something like that to Pumyra...?
[It wasn't something she'd considered before, but... it sort of made sense.]
Pumyra was a Thundaran soldier who died after Mumm-Ra and the lizard army wrecked the city. She could see Lion-O leaving when she was dying but there was no way Lion-O could've known she was there.
But Mumm-Ra brought her back to life, and now she hates Lion-O because she thinks he betrayed her and left her to die. She even gave the Tech Stone to Mumm-Ra, and he called her his 'beloved'.
[The face Kit makes at that shows her feelings on that matter vary clearly.]
... I don't know what Pumyra was like before. But... I dunno if what she is now is all her or if Mumm-Ra did something to her when he brought her back.

People twisting other people's minds and souls to their will. They don't have to right to do that! Our souls belong to no one but us!
[He starts to say more, but then realizes the spaghetti is ready and falls silent so he can focus on draining it without burning himself. It's a little easier now that he has his bracelet, but it still takes a lot of focus and the last thing he wants to do is ruin supper when it is so close to being finished!]
no subject
Diarmuid's words sound strange to his ears--for so long he did belong to someone else, and he didn't question it. Even in the past few months he hasn't even considered himself as belonging to himself. But now that he considers it, he supposes no one owns him now. He might have considered Steve his new handler, but the man doesn't give him orders; he's radically different from what he'd known.
He feels both a thrill and a little lost all at once at the idea. He doesn't really know what to do with the feelings, so he turns his attention back to the boy, who appears to be almost finished cooking. Diarmuid said he'd ask for help if he needed it, and Bucky has been told to rest, so he doesn't offer any assistance. Even so, that doesn't mean he can stand to sit there without saying something.]
Be careful.
no subject
Yeah. Some people don't care, though, and think that just because they're stronger, that means they can do whatever they want to whoever they want. And then there's some people who just hurt people because they like doing it.
[Like Mumm-Ra. And she was willing to bet those HYDRA people too.]
But that's why people like that need to be stopped. Nobody has the right to do that to somebody else.
[Kit too was soon distracted by the food being almost ready and watched as Diarmuid carefully drained the spaghetti. James had already said to be careful, so Kit just waited to make sure things went smoothly, ready to help if they didn't.]
no subject
Steve says he is going to make sure that the people who hurt Lord James can't hurt him or anyone else again.
[He turns back to them.]
We need to do that too when we get home! We have to make sure that people can't hurt others like that!
[Diarmuid claps his hands and then waves toward Kit.]
Come and get a plate for Lord James, Kit! Do you want a lot of sauce, Lord James, or a little?
no subject
He distracts himself from the idea Steve might not remember when he next sees him by thinking of how to answer Diarmuid's question. Making a decision about something so seemingly unimportant in the long run seems exhausting at the moment, but it gives him something to focus on.]
Less. [It's mostly a random decision, given it won't make much difference to him anyway. He figures he should make more of an effort than always saying he didn't know.]
no subject
[Kit hoped he gave one of them a good, swift kick on her behalf.
When called over to get a plate for James, though, she nodded.]
OK!
[She hopped down off the couch and went over to retrieve an empty plate and fork, bringing the plate over to Diarmuid to load up with spaghetti. She watched as her friend scooped noodles onto the plate then poured a bit of sauce over them.]
I'll take a bit more sauce when it's my turn, OK?
[May as well get her 'order' in while she was there, to save Diarmuid asking.]
no subject
[Diarmuid carefully fills the plate and then turns to start making Kit's plate.]
Thank you, Kit! Oh! I forgot!
[Diarmuid finishes Kit's plate and then scrambles down from his perch and runs to the refrigerator. He pulls out some shredded cheese and then runs it over to where James is sitting.]
Sometimes people like to put cheese on it!
[He sets the cheese down on the coffee table and then runs back into the kitchen.]
no subject
He nods at Diarmuid when he puts down the cheese, but it just sounds like more effort for not that much benefit. He might try it later, but for now he'll just eat what's given to him.]
And Kit unintentionally causes trouble. X3
