Who: Everyone Where: Mostly Districts 2 and 3 When: 20th September Summary: In light of the new district reopening, there's still a lot to do! This log is open to everyone if they want to see what else is going on in the city, or help with some important tasks. Warnings: Inbox death may occur. System overload at own risk. SOME NPC RESPONSES WILL BE SLOW UNTIL THE ONE WHO PLAYS THEM IS PRESENT.
I'm only happy when it rains...
Some of the natives have been busy. There's a little stand set up in the plaza that wasn't there before. They have minions, too: people with clipboards are assaulting recent arrivals on the street with requests. It seems that most of the employees are helping with the district reopening, and that means everyone else is incredibly understaffed.
But wait! Don't walk away! If your character helps with some of the chores around the city, they'll get a little money added to their stipend, as well as a coupon to the new store opening today in District 3.
District 2 Residents will be asked to help hang up tiny twinkling lights in the trees lining the streets, nothing so fancy as during the summer festival but something with lasting power throughout the oncoming rainfall. There are water fountains that need to be insulated, gigantic mountains of leaves that should be disposed of, and plants requiring trimming.
District 3 In addition to the winterization chores going on in the second district, the shopping district has their own problems to take care of. Large potted plants need to be moved inside-- that's a job for physically fit characters-- and little tents need to be taken down. Oh, and they need lights in the trees here, too.
New Store There is a lot of excitable chattering surrounding the new store on the main shopping street. The sign is currently covered in plastic and unreadable.
Boxes Near the water, groups of trees, or small parks, characters might stumble upon a group of canvas-covered boxes and someone desperately looking for help with them. There are a lot, after all.
YOU MAY NOW REPLY. Thank you for your patience!
NPCs will pop into the last two sections. Otherwise, comment and threadjack at will.

DISTRICT 3

He nods politely at anyone who passes him, but is mostly lost in thought, still not sure what to do about Lelouch. Still not sure if this place is telling the truth, if they truly need the help or if it is just an excuse to imprison them.
Looking around at how this district has come to life, Suzaku can't help but believe the former.
no subject
But he still doesn't know too much about this place, huh. Not enough from actual people who live here, either way. So when he sees Suzaku helping out with the plants too, he can't help but wander over - even if Josuke is a fairly weird sight, a tall guy in a sailor outfit. ]
.. Were you one of the people taken to this place too? [ No "excuse me" since social customs are still.. not really something he's used to.. ]

I didn't know they kept people here for that long though.

After a while, she moves to light duty, stringing up lights in the trees. While she can get them in some of the lower branches, she soon finds herself standing on her tiptoes and occasionally lightly tossing the strings of lights up in the hopes of getting them slightly higher...with the occasional consequence of them falling back into her face, but still. At least she's trying hard?]

[He happened to catch sight of a band of lights falling out of the tree, all right? He was sitting on a strong branch, getting together some more intricate light patterns, but the sight of a tiny face about to hit by lights has to be stopped!
So he swings himself down and around, hanging by his knees and catching the lights before she gets hit yet again.
Lopsided, upside down grin.]
Gotcha.
no subject
Uh, th-thanks! That was like, uh....k-kind of amazing...!
[There are already a couple red marks on her face where the lights have hit previously, so she's kind of relieved that he caught those.]
no subject
That's not too painful, is it? I can probably find you an ice pack.
Or you can come up here with me. I'll keep you from falling.
no subject
N-No, no, I'm...I'm fine! I'm totally fine! Really, I am! I-it, um, it doesn't even hurt at all, really!
[Lies.]
And I-I'm not too sure me getting up into that tree is like, a good idea. I mean, I can barely keep it together on the ground sometimes...

Heading towards her direction, Soushi will offer one of his more genuine and polite smiles.]
Excuse me, miss. Do you need help carrying the larger flower pots? [Then he will add.] It would seem as though you are in need of assistance in doing so.
no subject
O-Oh, uh, s-sure! I mean, I totally think I was really starting to get it, but...it'll probably be easier with a little help. ...Are you sure it's not like, a bother, though?
no subject
Not at all. It won't be any trouble and it will be an honor to help you. As I am accustomed to this type of work, I greatly enjoy it.
[Without another word, he will reach out and carry the heavy item without a second thought. Once he had a good hold on the item, he will turn towards the other girl.]
Where do you wish to carry this to, Miss?
no subject
She gestures toward a nearby store.]
They asked me to move it in there. I got some of the little ones in myself, but...

Re: DISTRICT 3
She's currently occupying herself grabbing the largest potted plants she can find, and carrying them to whatever destination they needed two at a time. Which was really pretty easy for her-- not only was she strong, but she had the benefit of having four arms to work with. The lower ones could be used for supporting the weight, while the upper arms were each used more to stabilize it than anything else. It let her carry one on each side, even for the largest plants.
She hasn't even broken a sweat yet, and is making little effort to talk to anyone unless it's necessary. And whenever the shopkeepers thank her for her work, or so much as greet her, all they get for the trouble are narrowed eyes staring them down and total silence from Looma herself.]
Re: DISTRICT 3
He's occasionally giving Looma glances--maybe a little wondering what she is, but more envying the four arms right now. Another pair would definitely make this go a lot faster and have him paid quicker. ]
no subject
Can I help you, human?
[It's worth noting of course, that the relative politeness of her words do not match the tone in her voice as she does her best to keep up as neutral a front as possible as she faces Cloud. With heavy earthenware planters in hand, of course. She's not going to stop working outright just to have a conversation.]
Re: DISTRICT 3
Honestly, who left this here?
no subject
Hey! Rin! Remember me?
no subject
Yeah, America right? Nice to see you again!
no subject
[It looks like she can handle lifting them herself no problem. Still he offers since it's the polite and faster way to do things.]

DISTRICT 3
He's got his eyes on how easy Rin manages to lift the big plant; his surprise at her ease is even greater since at the moment he has to rely solely on unenhanced strength. The doctors at the entrance of the new sector rather wisely barred him immediately, seeing he was in a stage of touch withdrawal, so instead he's helping out here. (And, rather stubbornly, putting off following the doctors' advice of "rest and positive contact".) He feels--kind of lousy, admittedly, but fine enough to want to do something productive. ]
Re: DISTRICT 3
[Rin is just strong honestly, considering everything. She worked out and there was a lot of times in the past that she hefted huge pots after all. Some of them were too big for her, but she'd probably just transform in order to do that.
Being a Florists daughter has a lot going for her at least.]
Re: DISTRICT 3
For the moment though, he pauses in his step and looks up at the sky--he knows it's getting colder, but being from a mountain village it doesn't feel that bad. ]
They must be pretty delicate, then.
