Who's that pokemon?

Who: Cu Chulainn and Diarmuid
Where: Apartment 3

Summary: Cu Chulainn meets the new pokemon

[Diarmuid had gotten his hands on a big, strange egg. Cu Chulainn wasn't too sure what the egg was, even though Diarmuid had told him it was a pokemon egg. He had still tried to eat it at first, before Diarmuid stopped him and confiscated the egg. For several hours on end, Diarmuid had taken care of it, but it showed no sign of hatching. Cu Chulainn was starting to get a little annoyed at it.]

[Then at night, it had suddenly hatched into a strange creature, almost like a cross between a horse and a fish. Now, Cu Chulainn was glad that he hadn't tried to eat it. Of course, it was so tiny and delicate that Diarmuid did most of the handling. But Cu Chulainn was excited about getting to play with it in the morning.]

[Come morning, Cu Chulainn woke up late to fine his brother and the new pokemon gone. Not knowing where his brother had gone or what he was doing with the egg, Cu Chulainn sulks, lying down on his stomach in the living room. The puppies, first White and then Grey, clamber onto him, forming a dogpile. There they remain, not moving except for the puppies occasionally pawing at each other's faces. Only when they hear the squeaking of the door do they turn around.]

[He nods eagerly.]

Come on, everybody, let's go!

[He beckons to the puppies to come into the restroom too.]

[smallspot]

[Diarmuid follows his brother and the puppies into the bathroom, Horsea squirming excitedly in his arms. Once inside, Diarmuid looks toward Cu Chulainn.]

Do you mind running the water? I'm going to grab another towel. Don't make it too warm or too cold. Somewhere in the middle is the best!

[beforetights]

I don't mind!

[He quickly clambers over to turn on the faucet, plugging in the drain and letting the water run.]

Here! You feel it! Is it warm?

[smallspot]

[Diarmuid grabs a couple of towels and then joins his brother at the tub. He reaches into test the water and the nods.]

It is just right! It's a little warmer than at the lake. That was just a little too cool after a while, wasn't it, Horsea?

[Horsea makes a burbling sound that is a yes and then tries to jump out of Diarmuid's arms and into the tub. Diarmuid tightens his arms and shakes his head.]

Wait just a little longer, Horsea! Then you can jump in and make a big splash!

[beforetights]

[Cu Chulainn sits by the side of the bath, waiting for the water to fill up.]

He really likes the bath, doesn't he?

[He sticks his hand in the water and sees that it's deep enough to fill more than half the bath.]

Come on! I think it's deep enough for him now.

[smallspot]

Horsea just really likes water! He's a water pokemon, after all!

[Diarmuid watches his brother test the water and then nods.]

It is deep enough now. All right, Horsea. In you go! Make a big splash!

[Horsea makes what could almost be called a happy trumpeting sound and then leaps out of Diarmuid's arms into the water.

Wow...who knew something that size could create such a big splash...]

[Cu Chulainn shrieks and tries to cover his face as horsea splashes him. The two puppies bark as well when the water splashes them.]

Look at him go! Who gets in next?

[smallspot]

[Diarmuid just giggles when the water hits him. He doesn't really mind considering he is pretty wet already.]

I don't care! At this rate, you might get less wet if you are in the tub with Horsea instead of standing outside of it.

[Horsea seems to agree with this, taking a moment to shoot some water out of the tub. He doesn't actually aim it at anyone, though, since he doesn't want them to think he's picking on them after getting them wet twice before. Maybe he's only a baby, but does remember the warning Silver and Diarmuid gave him at the lake.]

Then I'm getting in!

[He pulls off his by now sopping wet shirt and jumps into the bathtub. Once inside, he raises his hands to splash horsea.]

[smallspot]

[Horsea bobs back and forth to try and avoid the splash, but it doesn't do much good. Still, he doesn't seem to mind and blows some bubbles to show that. Diarmuid, knowing there's not really enough room for them all in the tub--not if Horsea is going to have room to play--just kneels next to it instead.]

You should see how big Horsea's mom is. Someday Horsea will be that big too. I might even be able to ride him across the water!

[beforetights]

[Cu Chulainn giggles and reaches to try and grab the bubbles.]

Look, brother! He's making us a bubble bath!

[His mouth drops open as he hears Diarmuid's description of Horsea's mother.]

Really? I'd wanna ride him too then. How long will it take for him to get big?

[smallspot]

He is! He is!

[Diarmuid reaches for a bubble of his own, laughing when it pops. He then grows a bit more serious as he answers his brother's question.]

It's going to take a while. Pokemon grow by leveling up and evolving. They level up by fighting and gaining experience. Kind of like knights do, only knights don't change shape.

[beforetights]

That's great!

[He throws his arms up into the air, cheering.]

So they can train along with Grey and White and Blackie! And when they get strong enough we can all fight together!

[smallspot]

Yes!

[Diarmuid nods happily, reaching down to pet the heads of the puppies who are watching their owners and the strange blue creature play in the tub.]

I have been a little worried about the puppies getting hurt. They will be good fighters, but some fighting is just not good for dogs. Pokemon are suppose to be partners almost like another person would be. So Horsea can fight with me even with Grey can't because it might be too dangerous.

[beforetights]

Just like how Blackie can fight alongside me, since she's a special horse.

[He looks toward Horsea and then back toward Diarmuid.]

Hey, Horsea can be your horse! That way, we can match.

[Speaking of partners and all, Cu Chulainn decides that he should let Diarmuid have a turn playing with Horsea now. After all, Horsea is going to be his brother's partner and not his.]

Right, you should get in the tub now.

[smallspot]

[Diarmuid nods and stands up so he can get ready to climb into the tub once his brother gets out.]

I kind of thought that too! Horsea is like my Blackie. You and Blackie defend the land and Horsea and I defend the water. We are a perfect team!

[He reaches out to lightly pat Horsea on the head and the pokemon blows more bubbles in approval.]

[beforetights]

We would be.

[He hops out of the tub to let Diarmuid in.]

Do you think Blackie will like Horsea? Should we go introduce her to him?

[smallspot]

Hmm...

[Diarmuid takes a moment to think about that as he climbs into the tub. He then leans close to Horsea and giggles as the pokemon blows a bubble at him.]

You would like to meet a brave horse wouldn't you? But maybe when you are a little older...

[He turns to his brother.]

Blackie still bites a lot. I don't want her to scare Horsea. Can we wait a little bit and then let them meet? Just to give Horsea a little more time to get used to things?

[beforetights]

Mm...

[He thinks this over for a moment.]

Yeah, we can.

[He pats the puppies on the head. It's his turn to make sure they won't try to jump into the bath.]

How long do you think it'll take?

[smallspot]

Not too long. Maybe just a couple of weeks, right Horsea? Because you are smart and brave.

[Horsea swims around in a circles excitedly making waves that Diarmuid deflects with his hands.]

See! It won't be long and Horsea agrees! Maybe once he gets completely used to the puppies we can go see Blackie?

[beforetights]

Good idea.

[He looks down toward the puppies.]

So, how do you guys like Horsea? Are you used to him?

[Grey stays quiet and wags his tail, while White gives an excited bark.]

[smallspot]

[Horsea makes a soft squeak and floats a little closer to Diarmuid who reaches out to pat him on the head.]

I don't think he's quite used to the barking yet, but he's getting better. See? He didn't actually hide! He just moved toward me a little. Good job, Horsea!

[When he hears the praise, Horsea makes another squeak, this one louder than the first, and bobs up and down happily.]

[beforetights]

[Cu Chulainn laughs as he sees Horsea bobbing up and down.]

Yay! He's a brave little Horsea!

[At that point, his stomach growls.]

Oh...I think I'm gonna have to get some food for me and the puppies.

[But mostly for himself, since he hasn't eaten while waiting for Diarmuid to come home.]

[smallspot]

[Diarmuid nods. He's actually a little hungry too since he was so excited about his horsea that he left without eating anything to go to the training.]

We are all hungry, I bet. Even Horsea!

[Horsea makes a squeaking sound to show he agrees.]

Make sure you dry off and dry off the puppies too so no one gets sick. I will clean up the rest and then come out to meet you. What will you have to eat?

[beforetights]

Yeah, he was at training all this time, so I bet he's hungry too!

[Cu Chulainn yanks a towel off of its rack.]

Hm...how about something sweet! To celebrate getting a new friend?
